Like... really excellent. It’s an excellent show. Hope it goes the full five seasons.

It’s already been renewed for a fifth season hasn’t it?

I’m on episode nine of season four now. Absolute quality.

Anyone watched Succession? I keep on seeing that compared to Billions.

Rebecca Cantu is a funny one; great arse in those jeans and perky cherubs too, she's a bonny lass but it does look like her head has been over inflated and finished off witth a rusty blade by someone in a drunken hurry.

Chuck fuckin’ Rhoades.

His fucking missus is a fucking pious cunt and she needs killing off in some gruesome accident involving Jeremy Wade and a fish supper.

Anyone tried 'Perpetual Grace, LTD' yet? Trailer looks good and the cast is great. Jimmi Simpson, Ben Kingsley, Jackie Weaver, Kurtwood Smith, Luis Guzman, Damon Herriman, Timothy Spall and Terry O'Quinn. Synopsis below:

By the fella who created 'Patriot' for Amazon and that is a very good show.

Really enjoying this so far. Can't wait to see how the characters develop. Kingsley and Simpson have been brilliant and the interactions between the former and Guzman are funny as fuck. The only gripe I have is the wait for the next episode.

Not really a show, but my neighbour across the way has got porn on his massive telly right now, and like a right nosy bastard I'm transfixed.

7/10

I'm upping my score to an 8, the production values and cinematography are great. None of this gonzo lark, a proper multi-camera set-up and seamless editing.

I've also deduced, Watson, that he doesn't live alone, and likely has one squeaky stair, as the cuts to Springwatch are jarring.

Best 2 shows I'm watching are The Virtues and Billions. Be hard to come up with a bigger difference in the style of acting. Completely believable hard hitting realism versus scene chewing melodramatic cheesy as fuck  bollocks. Both enjoyable in their own way though.

What? Really? I'm surprised, I thought it was some of the best of the show.

Billions is possibly the best show on TV currently. The last season was excellent.

It's still good enough that you stick with it but I'm surprised you rate it so highly (best show on TV now is not so hard at the moment to be fair), it has become predictable and at times tedious, this in S4 has all been done before, big plot twist towards the end, every character that serves as an obstacle to main heroes has some easily discovered and exploited weakness, everything heroes do is an elaborate double or triple move laying the trap in which others inevitably fall in.

The two main new elements, emotional relationship between Mason and the father, Axe and the lady shark investor make you more interested until you realize it will not be developed further than just serving as a vehicle for another plot twist. The entire subplot with Wendy and the license is not particularly plausible. Everything else is mostly over the top, and the dialogue I mentioned before, the incessant references made by characters who are never shown to do anything else than make money or fight for power 24/7 yet they are all so much into pop-music, sport, films, television etc that they can constantly quote from any pop music lyrics or films, from French classics, Cassavetes, 80's crowd pleasers, you name it, they know it and every other character knows it. And how they are all horrible cunts and trying to destroy Taylor Mason, but heaven forbid they would "dead-pronoun them" or not use the pronoun they Mason instructed them to use for her.

At least they shipped out Malkovich Malkovich early in the season, the man is doing the same creepy character in everything I've seen him in the past 10 years. He will undoubtedly have a role in S5 when they all go after Axe.

Forgot to say why I think I enjoyed Billions less than in the beginning, it now feels a bit stuffy , as it was taking place in some vacuum, populated more or less only by Billons-like characters, whilst I have a feeling, (and may be wrong) that first two seasons dealt more with the outside world, the impact of their actions on society and society's reaction.

This now has a very manneristic feel to it, almost as some period royal court drama, where characters are pursuing their intricate plots and intrigues, anything is possible because this world has its own rules and is populated only by certain type of people.  And every character that enters is already of this world.
