Rate the last TV Show you watched

I am struggling a bit with season 2 of Snowfall as its just not gritty enough. While I'm not bothered about there being no nudity,the fact that they dont show any of it and the swearing is quite mild detracts from the serious nature of the subject matter. FX do this with a few of their shows,some are ok with it not being too grisly but others suffer from that lack of realism.

To be fair Snowfall improves quite a bit after a few episodes of the second series.

Succession is getting top billing from the various TV show threads on Reddit. I've watched 2 episodes (Not a lot I'll grant you) and it hasn't grabbed me at all. There doesn't appear to be one likeable character, which may be the point.

Second one was on last night. If you watched it then you will understand that the last few seconds of last nights was a twist no-one saw coming.

True Detective Season 3.

 

Really enjoyed this. The plot isn’t quite as convoluted as the first two seasons and despite some recurring themes, the muttered philosophical musings are greatly stripped back too. 

 

Mahershala Ali is powerful throughout, particularly when almost lost to dementia in the third of the three intersecting timelines (1980, 1990 and 2015). 

 

Right up there with the first season for me, and even better in some aspects.

Just to add that as I've watched most of the second series I've noticed that each episode was written by a different person and I think that hasn't helped. Walter Mosley wrote at least one and he's an excellent author but sharing the episodes out has made it a bit inconsistent in my view. Still worth watching though.

I was a bit torn over the first season but season 2 really kicked on, so hopefully the new season can stay at a similar level.
