6 episodes into Deadwood and really enjoying it. Is Al Swearinger the reincarnation of Quintus Batiatus or what?

Hail Batiatus !

Wasn't Deadwood before Spartacus?

Edit: I get you now, ignore my comment. I thought you was implying McShane had copied John Hannah.

Forgot to say why I think I enjoyed Billions less than in the beginning, it now feels a bit stuffy , as it was taking place in some vacuum, populated more or less only by Billons-like characters, whilst I have a feeling, (and may be wrong) that first two seasons dealt more with the outside world, the impact of their actions on society and society's reaction.

This now has a very manneristic feel to it, almost as some period royal court drama, where characters are pursuing their intricate plots and intrigues, anything is possible because this world has its own rules and is populated only by certain type of people.  And every character that enters is already of this world.

While I did enjoy Billions I do see your point as everybody in it has now become a major cunt.

Quicksand 5/10.

Only six episodes but at least four episodes too long. Like an American teen series transported to Sweden and just as shit.

Quicksand, I go one better 6/10, the concept wasn't bad but it was ruined by the ending and the fact you had to watch a bunch of irritating teenagers for 6 episodes. Young Chris Froome was particularly deserving of a bullet.

Should have opted for the audio book instead.

Celebrity Gogglebox on last night. Chris Eubank, with his sheriff badge on, turning to his son, saying "Do you know what Ryvita is?" genuinely tickled me more than any comedy I've seen in ages.

I need to watch that. For all the stick he gets, I love Eubank.

Watched the first episode of Too old to die young, the new amazon prime show directed by Nicolas Winding Refn. Ten episodes, some as long an hour and a half.

Very slow paced and not much dialogue but strangely compelling and beautifully shot. Unsure what to make of it so far.

Loving Deadwood.

Just watched  episode 10 "Mr Wu", was nearly back in hospital when Swearingen said "Get a fuckin' haircut cocksucker, it  looks like your mother fucked a monkey".

Pro tip - don't burst out  laughing 2 days on from a freshly repaired hernia.

It's brilliant.

Three episodes into Swamp Thing. No drop off in quality. They’ve  started to introduce the supernatural aspects into the mix. On the basis of what I’ve seen so far, WB are making a mistake cancelling it and not getting it out to as large an audience as possible.

Finished watching 'Borgia.' Fully enjoyed it despite the lack of battle scenes. Upped to an 8/10.

Gonna watch Chernobyl now, hopefully as good as some say.

Just finished watching Chernobyl. I'm not going to rate it as I don't see it as entertainment, just a modern way to show a documentary about history and the catastrophe what happened. To give us an insight into what happened, the victims and those affected, the brave who risked their lives to sort out the aftermath, those who probably had to do jobs and make decisions we got to see and some we'll never know about, the heroes, the compassionate, the intelligent, the cunts trying to save their own arse despite being irresponsible and incompetent and the cunts at the top who were/are only bothered about the pride of  the Soviet Union. The music to go with the  closing words was sorrowful yet very powerful, sent a shiver down my spine. I thought they did a very good job and I'm glad I watched it. We'll probably never know the whole truth, especially the true number of fatalities.

One day that Nuclear shit will make this planet unlivable for most living things. Might not happen in our life time, it might not happen in the lifetime of our children, grandchildren or great grandchildren, but it will happen one day.

I'll never forget what was taught to us in the military days whilst doing NBC (Nuclear/Biological and Chemical warfare) training. If a Nuke goes off and you can see the cloud, put your head between your legs and kiss your arse goodbye, because even the NBC kit issued to Soldiers will be as useful as tits on a Bull.
