I'm not really feeling hill house. I liked the funeral parlour episode the first half at least! one single camera on a closed set, shot in one take, gave it a theatrical feel but highlighted the lack of acting talent.

Have you watched it all? The jumpy bits are fucking nuts. i don't watch many horror programmes/films really. Heads up the wall after that 20 minutes ago.

The kids in it are great actors. I don't think on the whole the acting is all that bad either.

Yeah, enjoyed that one too, but Rope it certainly wasn't. Far easier to do that one take thing in this age of digital editing as opposed to Hitchcock's imagination and creativity and primitive cut, splice and pastes.

Just finished the last episode. have to say it was really good. I thought the acting was decent. Some very jumpy scenes and defo worth a watch for anyone into stuff like that who haven't seen it. 7.5/10

Still reeling from a scene in episode 7. Fuck me. I shed full skin.

Better Things  7/10.

Pamela Adlon's and Louis C.K.'s dramedy.  Would even rate it higher but there is a tad too much about her daughters and family for my taste and the teenage girls are just about the most irritating characters I've seen so far, the oldest one with a super whiney voice is just insufferable. Everything not dealing with family is almost Louie-great.

Unlike One Mississippi, another  C.K. scandal hit show, this one isn't cancelled but on a hiatus, after C.K., who wrote a lot of it, and his company have been fired from production.  And like in One Mississippi, this one also has, in S1, an episode in which a character wants to masturbate in front of a woman. It's like some signature piece for C.K: Bizarre.

After rationing the last few episodes, I finished Haunting Of Hill House during the week.

Fantastic television to fuse a horror story with a family drama so seamlessly. The retelling of the same events through different perspectives worked brilliantly too, as did the awful reveal of things like who the bent-neck lady actually was.

The few hidden ghosts I saw (of the many placed across the episodes in the background of scenes) scared the bejesus out of me.

Unique 10/10

Cracking show, I look forward to watching it again on a bigger screen soon as I originally watched it on a computer screen. I hope it will be a different experience on a 55" black and white 4K TV.

I started Homecoming today. Absolutely brilliant cast. I'm 3 episodes in and really liking it. It seems some good old school story telling, some quality acting and no special effects in sight. The type of thing BBC used to be great at.

Same here, short episodes means it's easy to watch and it's definitely good acting and a good story. Not sure where it's going which is a good thing.

I shall give this a go and report my findings.
