I watched the first two episodes last night and had nightmares.

I'm a big fucking jessie though.

I get scared really easily but there was nothing in Stranger Things that even got me a little frightened, and I've been scared by a Doctor Who episode in the last few years.

I don't find it scary but my other half has jumped a good few times from it.

Saying that, I'm not really sure it's about scaring adults in the main. I found 'It' terrifying as a child but watching it now as an adult, while I still enjoy it, it's not scary anymore. I'd imagine if I was watching Stranger Things as a 13/14 year old I'd find it quite scary.

The gummy kid, Dustin, is the best thing about it for me. Good article by the Duffer brothers who conceived it in Empire:

In the 80s a curlywurly was the size of a grown man's forearm. I watched the first episode last night and really enjoyed it. Loved the final scene how it was shot, old school 80s. Unfortunately I watched it with the missus which means I have to watch it at her pace and can't just plough through them all. God she is so shit sometimes.

Of course everyone knows this scene is the scariest thing ever committed to tape.

The only thing that even remotely comes close is the Child Catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Not sure about coming out of nowhere, I'd been looking forward to it for ages. Hopefully if they do a second season they can keep up the quality despite some of the original mystique that will obviously be missing.

Some series are best left to a one off.

Orange is the New Black Series 4....bit shit in places. No enough hot lasses fingering or eating each other.

Didn't care about the character who died. Pretty shit way to die though

The theme of the series was that big business taking over prisons is bad m'ok. It leads to profit being the only driving force m'ok.

Get better of stop making this stuff

5/10

P.S I did watch the last four episodes after watching Stranger Things though...so that may have effect my decision

Half way through the Americans season 2 - I enjoyed the first season but this is much better. More engaging from the off - 8/10

Transparent - Had this in my watch-list for a while because I love Jeff Tambor but I remember the trailer putting me right off for some reason. Ended up sticking it on looking for some laughs the other night and I got something much better. Great stuff - 8.5/10

Peaky Blinders - First episode had me thinking 'This might actually be good' but the second was a let down. I just remember the slow-mo fight with the travelers making me groan a bit. I'll stick with it because I'm making a habit of watching things all the way through unless they're truly wank but hoping it gets better. British stuff never really does it for me though unless its comedy - 6/10

12 Monkeys; where the fuck is this going? The jumping backwards and forwards in time is starting to get really confusing, well to me at least. This 2nd series seems to be losing its way. Im down to a 5 out of 10 with this now and Ive still got 3 episodes of season 2 to watch.
