You realise what a scandal it would be if McDonald's were lying about the content of their burgers? And of course it would come out, because it always does.

Yeah, exactly. It defies belief that people like Vlad come out with the stuff they do. McDonald's - a place I don't eat at - is significantly more transparent than most restaurants. They show everything from field to finished product. I don't have an issue people saying they don't like the food, I don't either, but claiming it's all additives, etc, is clearly nonsense.

Why does it taste so bad compared to your average piece of beef or ham? The cooking process or what?

Burgers in general or McDonald's? I personally much prefer a good burger over a steak or roast beef. McDonald's make a cheap, inferior burger for the masses. It is frozen and cooked in a way that doesn't cause much of a Maillard reaction.

Went to Byron for the first time today (team lunch thing) & got fhe chilli burger which was really nice but too small & not spicy enough.

8/10 for taste

3/10 for value

There are loads of these ‘gourmet’ burger places now, chains and independents, they’re everywhere. I like some of them but it’s mental that’s it’s become the norm to charge £10 to £15 for a burger and chips.
