I think she followed the car because she had gone beyond being mildly suspicious of Ryan Pilkington, she had just had that little sit down with Steve where he's worked out the little kid Kate interviewed in S1 is the same person who tortured him.  So i can see the logic in her following the car, particularly as he is supposed to be escorting Terry whatshisname to his registered address.

She had that sit down after she followed the car didn't she.

Yeah, just checked and you're right. But, she had just had that Terry Boyle interview where Kelly Mac told her to button it as she was nearing him spilling a name, and she was already suspicious of Pilkington anyway so it didn't come across as a random act to me. Once an AC narc, always an AC narc.

Ted Hastings like the Battle. He even did the letter of the law quote in the last episode. It’s all a bit daft isn’t it? Become a pastiche of itself. Steve with his diclofenac as well. Will still watch it to the end though!

I thought she said no but he said it was alright with him because he couldn’t anyway. Could be wrong, I was distracted by the tiny bed.

They didn't need to come to an agreement , surely the tip would be already in as a result of getting both of them in the bed at the same time , and don't start me about the duvet cover.

Why would he fail a drug test for buying over the counter painkillers?

They're opiates so if he's using them in high volumes (which it's clearly implied he is) then I'm sure that would raise some questions on a drug test.

Surely he should crush them up and snort them or bang them up though for more authenticity?

Can't possibly live up to the hype.

I normally record and watch it on Tuesday, so avoid this tread.

Seeing as it is Sunday morning, I thought no spoilers so I can pop on. I really wish I hadn't now.

I always thought it’s set in Manchester, I’m sure when Steve visited Steph something was said about it being about an hour away.

It's set in a fictional non-specified English midlands/northern town.  Filmed in Belfast.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's actual aliens in it. Load of shite

I'd love that just for the reactions.

It'd be like Arnie's Terminator scanning his internal databases to find the appropriate words, before settling on "mate", "ma'am" or "boss".

In last week's episode when showing the unaired clips from the reporter who was shot it had "Midlands Tonight" in bottom left of screen, as if the was the program she worked on.
