Full time - Liverpool 0 Everton 2

A deserved win for the visitors. We huffed and puffed but Everton were really strong at the back. I don't think their keeper made a meaningful save in the game as he was protected so well by his back 4 in front of him.

Everton also created the better chances, especially in the second half when they really could have been out of sight much earlier. Sambou wasted a very good chance, while Kelleher made 2 top reaction saves to deny them.

Both their goals came from direct wing play down our left with the ball fired across the box for the onrushing Broadhead.

said it before, Lewis is nowhere near defensively. Great going forward.

Agreed, not good enough defensively. His ideal position, for me, would be as an orthodox left midfielder in a midfield 4, similar to how the Mancs used to use Beckham over on the right.

Full time - Bury 1 Liverpool 5

Goals from Paul Glatzel (x2), Jake Cain, Rhys Williams & Bobby Duncan see the lads through to the semi finals where they'll play Watford.

If we can get past Watford, then West Brom or Man City will be waiting in the final.

Just now, cinco veces said:

Looks likes the plan. He was rusty, and he didn’t look to go past opponents when in possession, but he didn’t appear hurt when he went off.

Yeah the Echo journalists at the game asked him and he said he was fine.

Thankfully.

This is his preseason. And it'll take him 3to4 weeks to be even considered for the first team. He needs minutes in games and there's no substitute for actual matches. If he can contribute something this year,I'll be delighted but if not, we can be hopeful that'll he'll be back good n proper next season.
