Powers that be would have a fucking cheek seeing as how they gave him a new contract.

Ensuring he still had value to us.in January ?. An extra 20k or so a week from July until January costs us  about half a million.

Don't get me wrong Big Nat should have a stand named after him for his heroics , but there would have to be strange circumstances for him to even get 5 games this season  meanwhile his brilliance in the spring is drifting from potential buyers memories.

Thanks for the reply but I'm actually now more confused.

He has a limited concentration span, which leads to mistakes, which in his position tend to lead to goal-scoring opportunities.

In between his obligatory errors, he can look good, sometimes very good, and when his errors don't lead to goals (for example, both games in the UEFA Youth League), people can get lulled into a false sense of security. They shouldn't.

Hopefully next year he can get loaned out, somewhere where he can find out what happens to players who make mistakes and then laugh them off, in dressing rooms full of grown men who need win bonuses.

The 23s host Arsenal at Anfield this coming Saturday - Kick-off at 16:00.

Offal

Liverpool U23s will return to Anfield on Saturday for a Premier League 2 clash with Arsenal.

Barry Lewtas’ side will kick off at 4pm BST against the second-placed Gunners, allowing fans to watch the men’s squad play in the lunchtime game at Watford before heading in person to support the young Reds.

The Kop will be open for the match and Anfield season ticket holders and LFC Members will be entitled to free admission for the fixture, which is an all-ticket affair.

All tickets must be bought in advance and there will be no walk-up admissions on the day.

General charges are just £3 for adults and just £1 for over 65s and young adults (17-21).

Kids seats are also just £1 and can be purchased up to a maximum ratio of 3:1 with an adult ticket. Full details on how to buy tickets are available here.

U23s boss Lewtas said it is a match and an occasion his players are all relishing.

He told Liverpoolfc.com: “For the U23s, I suppose the next step is always to play at the first-team stadium, so it’s something we’re all looking forward to.

“It would be good to get a few people in and give the boys a feeling of that stadium environment.”

The last Academy game at Anfield was the FA Youth Cup quarter-final against Arsenal last season, and a few of that team have now progressed into Lewtas’ development squad.

“A few of the lads will have had that experience of playing at Anfield before and that will be good for the game,” Lewtas added.

“It’s a competitive league and Arsenal are a good team, so it should be a good game for anyone who can come down and support the lads.”

Ah ok, thanks. Nice for him to get a run out.

Yes. He needed some minutes, so makes sense for him to play for the 23s if Tranmere have not selected him for their squad.

Hopefully the goal today will give him some confidence to take back to Tranmere. He started the season getting some decent minutes but has found playing time hard to come by in recent weeks, aside from appearances in the Papa John's Trophy games.

Fulltime - Liverpool 3 Arsenal 0

A much needed victory for the 23s following 4 league defeats on the bounce.

A good result against an Arsenal side who currently sit in second place in the Premier League 2 table.

Great turnaround cos they have been poor in their last few games.

Koumetio inspires no confidence whatsoever, too many fundamental flaws in his game.

Need to find a way to get Balagizi more central, he’s peripheral out there on the right.
Refereeing at this level always seems to leave a lot to be desired. Mind you, I just saw the penalty conceded by our U18s to Villa…. utterly laughable.

Atletico should be out of sight here, a lot of work to be done at half time. They’ll have exactly the same game plan tonight
