What’s this guy like?

Not as fast as the hype would have people believe. Only one foot. Doesn’t look up much. Pain in the arse to type his name out. Good close control even when challenged by bigger opponents (that is, everybody bigger than Dora the Explorer).

Just seen the sending off.  It didn’t look like a red at all.

Unnecessary challenge by Norris - Gave the referee a decision to make, and we all know about the standards of officials in this country...

After yesterday’s excitement of actually playing for something, it’s back to normal for the Under-23s vs. Brighton (Kirkby, noon, LFCTV) :-

Hughes; Gallacher, Beck, Savage, Boyes, Clayton, Clarkson, Dixon-Bonner, Woodburn, Longstaff, Hardy.

Subs : Mrozek, Walls, Sharif, Cain, O’Rourke.

Liverpool 0 Brighton 1

Poor first half from our lads. Brighton hit the post just before the break too.

We've had a couple of chances, firstly Longstaff with a backheeled effort after he got his feet in a mess when Woodburn had played the ball into him. Ben himself then had an effort saved by the visiting keeper, though in fairness, the shot was right at the keeper.

Joe Hardy has hardly touched the ball and just looks lost. Also, been really annoying me, Lewtas has got Dixon-Bonner and Longstaff playing in the opposite position to where I would expect to see them, and neither are having good games as a result.

Liverpool 1 Brighton 2

The visitors are back in front, and deservedly so. Their right back has been causing us all sorts of problems all game. Owen Beck is quick, but the Brighton right back is skinning him every time.

A ball from the right finds the Brighton number 9 who has an easy finish to notch his second of the game.

Liverpool 2 Brighton 2

The 2 full backs combine to get us level once more. Owen Beck does very well down the left and drives to the byline before cutting the ball back across the 6 yard box where the onrushing right back, Tony Gallacher, shows the forwards how to finish.
