Liverpool 4 Sunderland 0

Layton Stewart completes his hat-trick in the final moments of the game. Woltman slides a pass down the left side of the penalty box. The visiting keeper comes steaming out and manages to force Stewart to check his run, but Layton keeps his composure, turns and then lofts a lovely curling effort into the far corner of the net.

Full time 2-2

Liverpool come from two goals down to force the draw they needed to top the qualifying group. An excellent turn and finish inside the area by Joe Hardy, and then the corner routine you can see above by Elliott cancelled out the earlier goals by the home team, and the Reds were the better team for the rest of the game.

On the negative side, Yasser Larouci had to go off early with a thigh strain. Adam Lewis played 70 minutes off the bench at left-back.
