Why its not at a neutral venue is bizarre.

The format of the Youth Cup was changed after several years of moaning from Chelsea about fixture congestion. Naturally they lost their first match in this years competition.

Team tonight :

Jaros; N. Williams, Larouci, R. Williams, Boyes, Clarkson, Sharif, Cain, Dixon-Bonner, Duncan, Glatzel.

Subs: Kelly, Savage, Bearne, O’Rourke, Longstaff.

Not the greatest Youth Cup Final i have ever seen.

 

I know that Garcia is highly thought of, however, doesn't appear to be any standout players in this group of players. (Granted its the first time i have watched City)

City take a deserved lead in extra time of the first half. They’ve been quite dominant, playing a similar style to the first team, and being very good at playing out from the back and keeping posession.

 

Are we playing a 4-4-2? We’re definately playing two up front, and Duncan and Glatzel have been quite isolated from the rest of the team, and to be honest neither of them have looked very impressive. Cain and our other lad in central midfield have looked our best players. We’ve created a couple of decent chances, and do look likely to score if, and it’s quite a big if, we’re able to push forward and create some sort of pressure on their defence.

 

Edit: Of the City players Doyle in midfield have looked quite impressive.

We've been awful. I haven't got Lfctv anymore so I don't get to see the youth teams but the lads I've heard of haven't touched the ball. You'd think we'd have played that Dutch kid.

Game of two halves this, the Reds the better team in the second half, and pretty much deserved the equaliser.

 

Our right side with Williams and Sharif has been busy in the second half and caused City a few problems.

 

Duncan absolutely invisible until he scored.
