Long night ahead of us lads.

Liverpool’s pursuit of Dnipro winger Yevhen Konoplyanka has been one of the big stories of the past few days, and it is understood that their move for the Ukrainian remains ongoing. But negotiations over a £15m transfer have hit complications, and there is work still to be done ahead of the 11pm deadline.

So it's a who-flinches-first stand off in Ukraine? Chicken Kiev.

First rule of negotiating anything is you've got to be willing to walk away. If not, you're just bluffing and the other side will see right through you.

Final offer time. If they don't want it, leave it.

You don't think they saw straight through us when we flew out to Ukraine with only a day left in the transfer window?

I can't off the top of my head think of any player that got signed the next day?

Anyway. I know nothing much of this lad but any signing can only improve the depth of our squad.

Think Arsenal did one last year, or year before - as long as notification hits the office by 11 the paperwork/registration can happen the next day.

They *cough* claimed technical problems, but had to convince some panel that everything had been concluded by the deadline.

Rosie the Managing Director wasn't able to paw print her section of the document in time, because she was over in Monaco trying to enveigle her docile owner in matters he doesn't understand.

Or something nakedly implausible along those lines that's apparently alright, so long as it involves the man with eyes like a saggy pair of tits.
