Tough one, this.  About the only one who was poor was Cissokho, really.

 

Sterling for me wins it, tireless in attack and defense all night.  Tremendous effort.

Really want to include Mignolet, who had some really important stops to keep them from getting back into the game at any point, but his distribution still is lacking for me.  Not that I'm complaining if he's stopping all the shots that come his way, but it keeps him in fourth for tonight.

Very difficult this, everyone was excellent at their job.

 

1) Coutinho - I thought we would get overrun in midfield, but this little fella, not only is he creative, but he is very good at tracking back, pressing, pinching balls, clearing etc. Helped the midfield out.

 

2) Sturridge - World class finisher.

 

3) Gerrard - Still not convinced his a holding player, but today he had a very good game, and an improvement over last few games.
