Is there a way to get this straight to a smart tv or do you need a box?

I've got a Sony and a Samsung.

It works on shitloads of stuff but not on a smart TV. If you have a PC/laptop/tablet/phone it probably works on it and you can put it on the TV from there. If you want something small and cheap that works with the TV I would get a Raspberry Pi which works great and would cost you about 40/50 quid.

This is fantastic if you want live TV on your XBMC set up. It also has an EPG which switches to the channels.

There are a few sports channels included as well.

I am on istream and I cannot see a menu for General on the settings tab.

Found it now. Cheers.

What a load of messing that was.

Whats the next step after enabling it?

Go in the settings of PVR IPTV Simple Client and change the bit that says M3U play list URL to http://xty.me/vdubt25.

Change the EPG bit that says XMLTV URL to http://is.gd/vguide2.

Make sure Live TV is enabled in Settings.

You will need to restart XBMC and you should have a new section called Live TV with a couple of hundred TV channels. You can select channels within the EPG as well.

You put the addresses above in the PVR IPTV Simple Client settings. (This should now be in Settings/addons/enabled addons/PVR clients).

The M3U URL bit is on the general tab and is where you put http://xty.me/vdubt25 as the address.

The XMLTV URL bit is on the EPG Settings tab and is where you put http://is.gd/vguide2 as the address.

I've uninstalled it and I am currently reinstalling it.

Ive always had problems with xbmc but more so since that istream add on thingy so I'm going back to the beginning and starting again with a version called Gotham.

Gotham is the better version now for sure. It is worth the upgrade. You can add the repo for istream and just use it as another video addon instead of using the istream installer.

Maybe the Live TV does not work with Frodo then.

I did have both of them with everything installed but it seems pointless when I only use a few of them. Just takes longer to get to the ones you use. More chance of something being broken as well.

Fusion installs like this (and might be worth it just for the fresh start bit - xunity might still have its settings from Frodo when you install Gotham)

XBMCHub is now TVaddons though and is found on the link below so fusion may be out of date. Not sure yet.

XBMC itself is changing its name to Kodi as well but XBMC Gotham is the best one to use right now.
