Sadly I think he will be gone. I think the stats lot will view Trent and Virg as more important and probably easier to get the deal done. They'll use Salah money to try and fund the deals for them two. Probably makes some sense in a 'self funding' type running of a club

I think he will get very close to Gordon Hodgson this season already, he could well manage to overtake him if we get a good run in Europe and one of the domestic cups.

I can’t fathom the criticism and the acceptance that he will leave from some. He is an absolute phenomenon, an inch perfect cross for Mac which he couldn’t miss and a trademark belter into the top corner. Just absurdly consistent and unbelievably reliable. Yet people fixate on the missed chances and the passes that go astray.

 

We absolutely must offer him a new deal, there’s no players out there that can match his output and even ones who could are going to be astronomically expensive. We won’t see a better player join the club than Mo in most of our lifetimes.

what sums him up, is he looked proper off it last night and walks away with a good assist and a belter of a goal. and i think it was his pass for darwins offside effort.

He is very, very important right now because we are creating less than last season and he is providing most of the end product. Does that mean he should 100% be extended, no matter the terms, not really.

Amazing player, every one season he plays is a wonder. I do wish he wouldn't get 'Aspas leg' every other time he tries to pass, but I'll live with it. If you'd approached me before he signed and said, 'you've got the chance to sign one of the best players in Premier League history and will be in top five scorers in the clubs history, but every now and then he passes like he is 12 years old kicking a grown up ball for the first time', I'd obviously have said yes, but I'd have questions about how the two things could coexist in one player. Yet here we are.

I would have to look into every season and count every goal and assists to give an accurate answer to that.

i'm going off gut feel, but my view would be he's scored 60%, maybe more, in the first half of the season. but i would have absolutely no idea how to find that information without counting every game and i definitely do not run my own collection of spreadsheets.
