Mohamed Salah

Difficult one. Keeping him for 4 years will cost the club the thick end of 200 million (assuming he could be sold for 100 million this summer) when you consider not getting the transfer fee and the 20 million plus a year. It’s not as simple as giving him what he wants. That is an unbelievable amount of money for a player the wrong side of 30.

Surely if his agent booted off when Klopp misspoke on the contract negotiations (and apologised for) Salah shouldn't he doing this interview now. Especially now! Seems I'll timed and misjudged at best, and I'd be surprised if the club isn't fucking fuming.

Sign the contract or don't. Don't keep talking about it or trying to win some PR war. You can't have your cake and eat it

Could be about length of contract.

We're offering 3, he wants 4 or some shit.

Drop his basic wage demand (whatever it may be) in exchange for an additional year then.

Get's the same money over a longer period, club keeps it's wage structure.

He keeps getting asked though by journos after clicks.

I’d give him 5.

Fake Ronaldo is still smashing goals in for an awful team, Salah would do the same for us. He’s an athlete, a beautiful specimen of a man.

Shame to lose him but looking more and more that way.  Should start thinking of left footed forwards that can replace him,  keep Mane and get someone young like Karim Adeyemi in maybe. Carvalho also joining and while more of a number 10 could potentially be used there. Mane Jota Diaz while we try and develop some younger players.

Where though? Everyone else is shit.

Who ever pays him the most, I don't begrudge him. He will have given us the best years of his career and he wants to maximise earnings in his final contract.

By the end of next season he will have potentially won a couple of leagues and European cups, he's ticked them boxes, it's about money now.

I guarantee that if he had done the "no comment on contract" answer throughout and had his gobshite agent shut his hole the feeling around this would be vastly different.

It would have been spun anyway.

It’s not difficult to deflect them though or give a bland response though. The problem is clearly the advice he’s getting from his agent. His agent may even have arranged the interview for this very purpose.

He’s brilliant, but him leaving will still end up better for us than it will for him should he choose to go.

Yeah agreed on both counts. Who is his agent anyway? The cunt needs to go and open a tomb or something.

Probably not the main thing , but I definitely think he feels disrespected by never been in the conversation as captain even when the armband is being thrown around a few times during a game. The players had a vote that went Hendo, BGJ, Virgil and Gini, but even when none of those played at Midgetland Jurgen chose Trent. I remember thinking at the time it might come back to bite us. He is a proud guy
