I don't really see the point of the stats comparison in this context. People are worried with Salah's drop in form when comparing to when he was on fire last season, not compared to the first 7 games.

Maybe people shouldn't be worried as he wasn't on fire at the beginning of last season either. I think that's the context.

Oh definitely. He will still score lots of goals this season, he's far too good to not to. It's just that some people are flat out denying he's off form a bit right now. Admitting that currently his level of performance has dropped a bit since his free-scoring spree last season doesn't mean you don't think he has turned shit and won't start firing soon.

He has had a lot of shit to deal with over the past few months

The extra planning to stop him

The injury

The issues with the Egyptian FA and pretty much them threatening of his family still in Egypt

The world cup cutting into pre season

I would rather he start slowly than end slowly

Others need to step up, especially the midfield, the lack of goals from them is a massive issue

Yeah - i can't really remember us having a midfield as goal shy as our current one.

Yes we score plenty of goals due to the front 3 but there is literally no goal threat at all from midfield.
