Awful when he came on tonight.

Really hope he can get out of this funk he’s in for the weekend and especially for the Madrid match.

How was he awful? He created more in a few minutes than the rest combined.

It might be best if you don't listen to the podcast Dave and the lads did on the match last night...

not suitable for Evertonians or Code...

Come on Code, I know you love him but his was attitude was really bad when he came on yesterday. He had a huge titty lip on, and was completely half hearted when we didn't have the ball. He barely sprinted back at all. Was a shocking 20 minutes from him defensively and we were under the cosh for most of it.

Losing both Mane and Salah in one window would be very difficult. If Mane stays maybe this is a very good time to cash in on Salah. Its stops the potential disruption to the wage structure and Id trust Klopp and his team to get it right in terms of recruitment

Losing either of them would be a backward step and would lose us ground on City

Ideally they both stay but Id have thought Salah would have signed by now. Not sure him staying and being the top earner by some way will be particularly helpful

I want him to sign, but if he doesn’t by the summer I think he needs to move on. I don’t want it to overshadow the whole of next season.

I agree, the whole thing has taken to long, it's always in the back of your mind on whether its his last season or what.

It needs to be sorted as soon as.

Agree with this.  If he's not going to extend (and presumably whoever's negotiating with him has a fair idea on this) then I'd rather get what we can now and start trying to replace him.

Well, as it stands it's likely his last game at Anfield against Wolves.

Fuck knows how he's being allowed to play in two cup finals as a sort of reward for not signing a new contract.

Really shitty situation we've got ourselves in.  No player contract negotiations should take place during the season.  None.

Is he in the starting 11 yet though? Jurgen may bench him and use him as a sub?

He' been going on his left way to much recently and defenders are ready for it, needs to mix it up a bit.

He's left footed, he only ever cuts in, he never goes on the outside.  It's like the alternative universe Arjen Robben, you know exactly what he's going to do but you can always stop him.

Think there may be a tactical element to it. There's so much threat on our right from Salah and with Trent that teams are double or tripling up and closing the spaces and angles they work in. They still need to find solutions to that of course. The benefit to is if we get it right to us is it should free up space on the left of the pitch where we are getting more joy, it's just how we switch the play and use the ball effectively to take advantage of that

Yep, it works about half the time - for around 20-25 goals a season.

Is that good or bad?

Good when it's happening, bad when it isn't, I guess.

But...

... then he will go outside, and against Man City... no less.
