EXCLUSIVE:

Mohamed Salah finally on brink of agreeing new Liverpool contract for rest of his career

The saga over Mohamed Salah's new Liverpool contract appears to be nearing a conclusion with the Egyptian on the verge of signing a fresh deal to remain at Anfield

Mohamed Salah is now close to agreeing a new contract which will keep him at Liverpool until the end of his career.

Mirror Online can reveal that a change of mind from the 29-year-old Egypt international has heightened Anfield hopes of bringing an end to the long drawn out saga over his new deal which is set to give Reds boss Jurgen Klopp a huge boost.

After Salah rejected new terms which would have seen him earning £400,000 a week Liverpool’s owners were fearing the worst and that he would allow his current contract to run down making him a free agent in the summer of 2023.

That would have also made him vulnerable to offers from interested big hitters like Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona this summer.

Copy and pasting is a pain on phone

Lower wage but the security of a longer deal would be a very baseball style deal.

I don't think he's the type that would stay that last year or so to just take the money if he wasn't playing. Reckon there would be more chance he would ask to leave to play elsewhere. Makes sense all round

‘IT’S MO STAYAH!’ is an absolutely horrific attempt at a headline. It’s not a pun or any other kind of wordplay. Just absolute nonsense.

Did they have a headline after Istanbul in 2005 of ‘IT’S STEVEN GERWINNER!’?

Ooh I hope this is true. Would give us a boost and hopefully Mo too.

Yes he shook his head when he came off yesterday but I expect that was disappointment In himself. He did applaud the crowd though, I liked that. If he signs this soon he’ll soon be banging the goals in.

Surely there's no chance we're giving him 20m/season until he's 34?!

One would suspect there are a LOT of availability and goals bonuses included in that if so. That could be a real millstone around our necks otherwise in the last couple of years.

You would  think it was your money. Just enjoy him.

It’s on twitter. He’s getting 400k a week, child care vouchers and a free hot meal with every shift, a cycle to work scheme and discounts from some of his favourite brands.

Madness. Now all our top players will want this matched. Where is it all going to end? The game has gone crazy.

I would've gone with No Go Mo.
