Mo has now had 100 league appearances and has 63 goals! Only Shearer, Van Nistlerooy and Auguero have scored more in their first one hundred.

So what you're saying is Salah isn't as good as Shearer, van Nistlerooy and Aguero?

I’m thinking if he’d not had such a lean spell recently by his standards he’d be higher as he was only 1 goal behind Aguero.

Still gobsmacked how many records Shearer still seems to hold.

Alan Shearer is probably the best striker England has ever had who didn't test himself at elite level. Lineker at least played for Barcelona whereas Shearer played at Newcastle and Blackburn plus Southampton. Imagine Shearer at Liverpool. Who would he have been in the team with? Gerrard? Torres? I forget who was in our team at Shearer's time.

Fowler, Owen.....

Shearer was in is the best out and out number 9 the league has seen. An absolute beast of a striker. That Newcastle side for about 2 years were as good as most in Europe IMO they just lacked the mentality to go on and win the league. The likes of Ginola, Les Ferdinand, Rob Lee... they were all superb players. Shearer was the main man though. Thank fuck he never went to Utd although they still pretty much cleaned up during most of his career.

I think he would have properly suited the Italian league at the time which was the best in Europe. He didn't have the pace of a Ronaldo for example but was just a bit better than Vieri and Batistuta.

A lot on this site won’t realise just how good Terry Mac was, from midfield too.

Unbelievable player. Our 70s and 80s team was so full of world class players that only about 6-7 of them continue to get the recognition they deserve.

The likes of Terry Mac, the two Kennedys, Phil Neal, Thommo, Ronnie Whelan and Stevie Nicol were a wonderful supporting cast to the likes of Ray Clemence, the King, Crazy Horse, Johnny Barnes, Rushy and Souey. For me, Lawro and Hansen were the best combination at centre half in world football in their day.

Would go so far as to say the most underrated player in the clubs modern history. The madness of the numbers he puts up (even when carrying injuries) is totally taken for granted. If he hadn’t had the shoulder injury against Madrid affecting early last season he’d probably have the best 3-season numbers in the clubs history - period. End product is light years from an Eden Hazard, for example. Immense player.

He is definitely underrated, funnily enough mostly by Liverpool supporters. You get the feeling people would sell him tomorrow to fund a transfer for someone else and that most people much prefer Mané. Not that Mané isn't exceptional and Mané usually has more defensive work to do, but he doesn't come close to Salah's productivity. We can't take that for granted.

Does Ian Rush get a page to himself?

He should have two, one for his goals and one for the upperlip snail. Although Everton claim Rushie wouldn't have scored many during the VAR era because of the tash being offside always.

Mane is not close to Salahs productivity ? What nonsense is that?

Dont know what nonsense it is. But it is nonsense.

Mané has 102 goal contributions in 145 games at Liverpool. Salah has 116 in 124. These numbers are readily available online, by the way. Maybe look them up before calling it nonsense.

Ok, it’s stats nonsense then.

I said Salah is more productive than Mané, making him extremely valuable to the team despite what his shit-for-brains critics say when he misses a few chances. That is verifiably true, he's scored and assisted more than Mané by a pretty decent amount in fewer matches. Where is the lie? This conversation is like pulling hair out.

Perhaps claiming that Mané is nowhere near as productive when there is only a difference of 14 goals being involved with between them? Just a thought.

What are their stats just for this season?
