Safe Standing.

Sad to see FA jeopardizing the supporters security by denying West Bromwich their plan to make the stand safer for their fans.

Was in Row 74 of Block 306 (only a couple of rows from back and the seats are squeezed in up there) against City and it was madness especially when we scored....people falling all over place, lads coming over into row in front etc...

Safe standing area would be a lot safer in those kind of situations and generally IMO.

The mad thing is FA’s reason to deny safe standing is security reasons!

I suppose we’ll have to live with fans falling over seats a couple of years more. At least the injuries coming from it won’t be fatal. Broken legs, concussions etc. are probably the worst we’ll see.

The ignorance, not studying the facts, does my head in though.

I don't believe that 5% figure at all.

The demographic they must have spoken with or maybe to be fair who responded must be your proper half scarf and jesters hat merchants/older people who have never really stood.

That or things really have changed amongst fans.

If they wanna know why current situation does not work and is actually unsafe let them come block 306 of kop next tues and see the dangerous madness that exists when people who are bang up for it stand in an area designed for sitting in....

The safe standing is fit for purpose what we have now is fit for sitting but not for standing.

We learned lessons from that terrible day in 1989 and got rid of unsafe standing and all the other events that caused the horrific events so never again would they be repeated...we now need to move with the changes in how we can accomodate people who want to stand and do so safely as well as not spoiling things for those who wish to sit. Separate environments for different wishes.

The 'technology' exists to do it - it has been shown to work and work well....for me it is time to do it.
