Mancs 2nd. The Olympics 1st. The Tour de France 9th.

I haven't a fucking clue what these brand thingys mean or if they're relevant to anyone other than the person who made them up. According to this we're above Barcelona and the whole premier league.

Liverpool ARE huge.... it's because of their success in the 70s, and of course, help by The Beatles etc.

There are millions of people who grew up in the 70s and early 80s who are now Taxi drivers in Rome, or restaurant owners in Greece, and that's basically why Liverpool is such a well known club. It'll take another 40 years before that goes away.

United's story is a bit different... Munich made a huge difference and won them loads of support world wide. They really had a 20 year head start on most clubs in terms of gathering fans from abroad, and they still reap the benefits of that today.

I think there's another difference too...

There are loads of United and Liverpool SUPPORTERS around the globe, but Chelsea (and to a much smaller extent City) have only just started to register on the 'recognition'. Lots KNOW Chelsea, but don't support them.

That's not to say they don't have support, but it's nowhere near United and Liverpool. They just have brand recognition.

In another 20 years? might be a very different story.
