I don't know about the new estates there, but in Australia everyone wants to live where there is no through traffic. Lots of cul-de-sacs  and no through roads meaning no public transport. estates like fucking rabbit warrens. Designed to maximize developer profits, not for communities.

On a totally unrelated topic.

Fucking Microsoft. I made the mistake of "upgrading" to Windows 11. Fucking horrible, had to go back to 10, which is bad enough. To simply copy or paste a file in Explorer now requires 2 drop down menus rather than 1. Buggy as hell but wow the boxes have rounded corners.

It has taken me fucking hours to roll it back and needed contact with Microsoft to stop it trying to upgrade.

FUCK MICROSOFT

People who are too bone idle and inconsiderate  to return their trolleys to the trolley bays in supermarket car parks.

It was a bit windy here yesterday and one rolled just missing my car.

There's no excuse for it.

Might be controversial this but seeing new housing estates being built on places like farmers fields and school playing grounds. I realise people need houses but there’s something I always find a bit depressing about it all.

Must be getting old worrying about traffic congestion etc or just living in the past seeing them going up on areas I grew up and played on as a kid.

The old Leyland Motors test track near us has been ripped up recently for new housing and industrial units. Great place for a quiet walk too with plenty of nature albeit mind your step due to the drain covers being nicked by the "metal fairies" that specialise in poor tarmac applications.

Granted this thing hadn't been used in nigh on 20 years and was left abandoned; therefore something needed doing with it. Plenty of suggestions were made about turning it into a track for cars like Three Sisters or a nature reserve. Sadly, the housing mafia won. I'm all for housing that's affordable but surely there needs to be vital infrastructure in there too like a school or a doctors/dentist. None of that. Just houses and units. Leyland schools are already stretched as it is along with health services.

You can still see the test track on Google Earth. Have a look at it. It was pretty impressive.

I know the Leyland works well I drive trains right past it. And I’ll bore you with more Treasure hunt cos I’ve been watching them all, this one starts from the Leyland works.

Stepping in water when in your socks.

I know, you're thinking, why the fuck would I be waking in puddles without out runners "trainers" on

But I mean walking in any water around your house, like when you go to the kitchen and someone dripped some water from a glass, or in the bathroom when you stand on tt drippings of someone being in the shower.

It really drives me mad, having wet socks.

The other one is my missus has this horrible habit of filling the dishwasher from the front as opposed to the back.

That YouTube page has loads.

I also said earlier about wet socks. Going back in the bathroom after you’ve just put them on and having to change them again.

Unfortunately far too many people in society these days (probably always been the same) don’t give a flying fuck about anyone but themselves yet expect society to function just perfectly not suit them.

This is where you went wrong.

Mrs SR was doing the hard stuff to be fair , washing floors and bathroom / toilet , so I had to show a bit willing , but after my Joe Root style shenanigans my efforts tailed off.

There has always been people like that but it's definitely got worse over the last 15-20 years.

There's far too many people who lack common decency and respect for other people and their property.

The worse thing is it's not just bits of kids, a lot of it is by people who are old enough to know better.

I suppose it's a consequence of the relentless divide and conquer politics we've seen since the eighties, and latterly the poisonous & polarising influence of alot of the content on social media. It's the doubling down I find worst - no one seems able to hold their hands up and say 'sorry, I was wrong'. Some one cuts you up on the road? They give you the finger out of the window; their kid does something wrong in school? It's some other kid's fault. Hardly surprising though, when most politicians seem incapable of taking blame or responsibility for anything.

I think the destruction of communities by moving people into ill conceived housing estates and high rises, then the me me me culture instigated by Thatcher in the 80's was the start of society breaking down and then social media took it further.

Things have gone past the point of no return sadly.

You may be right, but there was a brief moment in the mid-nineties when people seemed to care and there was a palpable air of positivity in society. Labour rode this wave to their landslide victory, then proceeded to spend the next couple of years pissing on that fire of optimism. I didn't intend to bring politics into this, but I genuinely believe that if our leaders (and in turn the media) led by example, then society as a whole would follow. As you say though, that's unlikely to happen again in the near future.

While browsing YouTube, seeing interesting looking thumbnail images but when you click on it, the image from the thumbnail is not in the video. Fucking bastards!

Having had this yesterday, I've now seen a very similar image on another thumbnail, which is basically a photoshopped version of the previous one, and this naturally makes me assume the other one was photoshopped as well.
