Fighters either seem to get named the greatest ever or called out as hype jobs. Ronda Rousey was getting billed as the greatest ever before she got humbled twice. People then called her out as just a great Judoka in a burgeoning division years behind the men’s game. The truth is generally somewhere in the middle.

McGregor has ushered in an era of grandiose self promotion where you’ve got more chance of the big money by acting like a twat. Till had proclaimed himself capable of beating anyone across the three divisions, called himself the greatest fighter in the world and then failed to beat the first person capable of putting him on his arse. That person put him there by cleaning his clock on the feet which was supposed to be where he held the advantage. Of course he was overhyped. He’s proven himself to be a good, relatively entertaining fighter and not much more.

Very well put Charlie. Not to say the kid has no future but he needs to tone the self-promotion side and concentrate on the actual physical combat requirements of the sport a lot more and let his actions do the talking. It's one thing to talk the talk and quite another to walk it otherwise you end up looking like a right twat and that can't be good for business. This isn't WWE after all...........or is it?

But not the best in three divisions or the greatest of all time then? He got caught by a far better all round fighter then he is.

Woodley is a better all round fighter than just about anybody else in the history of fighting. No shame losing to him. What you’re annoyed at is people talking confidence induced shit and promoting themselves? Ok. Fair enough.

Well that was rather one sided.

Woodley is one boring prick, but he's a talented bastard when it comes to beating people up. Fair fucks to him.

How annoying was the commentary though?

That knob Cormier calling Woodley "T1" and Joe rogan moaning when the referee restarted the fight from the clinch.

Come on yanks, there's more to that game than hugging, which is fairness Woodley did eventually show.

Roll on October 6th so Mcgregor can shut all those gay porn lovers up one more time.

You are clueless.

Did anyone see the Conor Khabib presser? It was an absolute fucking masterclass. I can understand why people don’t like him, but you have to recognise the genius in his work.

And he’s never afraid of putting himself out there, laid bare. There’s a very real chance he gets humiliated on Oct 6th, Khabib could literally fuck him for 5 rounds. It can happen. But don’t underestimate McGregor, his intelligence or his fighting ability.

When you put everything on the line like that, so publicly, time after time I can’t help but respect you. He’s in a class of his own. I’m pulling for the Irish man.

Obviously want Connor to win, but unless he finishes it early when Khabib tries to box, then I can see a tap in his future.

Maybe, maybe right at the end of the fight. Khabib is so dominant on the ground I can see him just wanting a completely demoralising, humiliating 5 round mauling. If Conor can keep it on the feet for any amount of time I do genuinely believe he can get the knockout. But that’s a big motherfucking “if”

I’d love to see Khabib take a massive knee or uppercut when going for the legs.

If Khabib doesn't finish him purposely for 5 rounds so he can punish him then Connor will get at least the beginning of every round to try and out him away while they're standing.

Couldn't believe Khabib bit though as bad as he did, he was even funny with one of the reporters

Yeah, he looked a far cry from the ice cold, unemotional killer he normally appears, although I think Conor is such an irritating prick he could get under the dalai lama’s skin and have him slinging verbals.

I honestly thought it was a masterful display of showmanship, controlling the agenda and “mental warfare”. It’s quite obvious that Conor is in his head, to at least some extent. Whether or not that has an effect on the fight, who the fuck knows?

Thought that was brilliant, Conor is a master of this shit.

Baiting him with Putin, the bus thing, saying his dad stinks of shit or something, the Chechnya thing.

Also the whole whiskey business (pun definitely intended) offering Khabib some knowing he's Muslim, then giving him shit for not drinking it.

When one of the reporters gave the traditional Islamic greeting of As-salamu alaykum followed by congratulations to Conor on his whiskey. That seemed to piss Khabib off aswell, saying you can't put the two together.

And then right at the very end where they say one of the fight sponsors is Conor whiskey, and it's going to be advertised all over the canvas and Khabibs blood will be all over it.

Surely Khabib should have a problem with that if he's such a devout Muslim, I've heard about Muslim players leaving clubs because they are sponsored by beer or bookies, doesn't this fall into that category?

Hope Conor cleans him out, especially seeing as Ferguson will be next in line and that will be a top notch press conference and fight.

Actually I've just realised that's probably why Tony is on the undercard, he's plan B incase one of them pulls out. Clever.

I'm a fairweather UFC fan, watch the odd bout and know a couple names, so please can you clear this up for me? I hear people talking about Conor McGregor as the greatest fighter in UFC history, just to be clear - not saying the biggest name, but greatest ever. From my limited knowledge isn't this utter horsecock? I thought it would be Anderson Silva or Royce Gracie but perhaps there is someone even better that I've missed out?

Even with all of the drugs and what not, Jon Jones is also better than McGregor.

I'd have Cruz, Cormier, Couture, Aldo, Johnson all as better overall fighters in the UFC history.

A lot of the Conor GOAT shouts stem from Aldo being touted as one of the greatest ever.

Then Mcgregor nailed him in 13 seconds.
