But I completely disagree with the aggressive pleading/bullying in order to make them do so.

 

TLW is Dave's business and just like any business it's upto the owner to propose enough value for customers to take up their offering. For many of us, including me, Dave has done more than that. I love this forum. But you can't blame those who don't see the value in paying that subscription money. It's their money - they earnt it, just like I did mine, and there is no way in hell some random who doesn't know me is going to tell me how to spend it. It's not a charity. Dave doesn't need a favour. He's a grown man and has, in my opinion, developed the best Liverpool forum on the Internet.

 

If we want more people signing up we should either 1) add more value to the paid service or 2) take away value from the free service.

Because that's acceptable to me and my missus.  But her seeing a £24 bill for 'some fucking football site' would not be good.

 

I 'get' £30 per week to spend.  That's it.  Booze, fags, everything.  Everything else I earn goes into a debt repayment scheme.  It's not en excuse, it's a situation, mine.

 

But she does spend money on some small shit, and I could argue my way out of £2 per month because it's £2.  I'll think about it, perhaps payday in a couple of weeks time.

according to the green box up top of the page they are now...I'm very dissapointed ,as someone else said,weekly round ups and match reports were the best thing about the site ....limiting the amount of people that can view them seems a strange decision..

 

I gotta decide in future now whether or not to support the fanzine which I've been doing since issue 2 or just go with the match reports ...doing both simply is not feasible

I'd have thought having one behind the 'paywall' and one available to all might have been a reasonable compromise...

If you really want to read and use all of the content it's £6 for a 3 month subscription.

 

Don't see why Dave needs to allow all of the content to people who aren't willing to contribute or support the site. If he wishes to pull that content from non paying members then so be it.

 

Bet some of you spend that on lunch, fags, music, general stuff, every few days without even thinking of it.
