Mini derby (U-18's)

A poor game between 2 average sides on that showing, although it did improve a bit in the 2nd half.

The early challenge wasn't good but, apart from that I thought Everton were physical rather than dirty, though plenty of refs would have interpreted some of their challenges as fouls. It was actually good that this ref let them go.

A draw would have been a fair result but for once one of our young sides actually stood up to sustained pressure, especially the aerial onslaught that grew the longer the game went on.

Not much there to get excited about today, though I thought our goalie looked more assured than some of his counterparts of recent times, more reliable, and that was even before the penalty save.

Can't remember if we've seen him before, if we have I'm assuming he must have improved.

The 18's have gone over to the US for an 8 team tournament. Canos and Polgar were named in the squad, but Chirivella was not.
