Got myself this beauty the other day. Ive got a skagen one in black now this one.

Very understated, smart watches

You had it on in that picture you posted yesterday, when you were on a train ?

Thought it was a Bering. Very, very similar. Those laggy straps are a twat for me though, cos I'm a hairy fucking man.

Man, those Skagen's look purty!

After much deliberation, I ended up getting one of these last summer (excuse the shit photo):

I'd read a lot about Glycine - they invented the 24-hour 'Airman' watch in the 1960's. They do some lovely pieces - From about £500 up to £5K Mine wasn't silly expensive but it uses the same ETA automatic movement as some Breitlings. I love it: the finish is fantastic and the watch feels great on the wrist. It just looks and feels a cut above my £100 Wenger beater. That said - It's off to get regulated this week whereas the Wenger quartz hasn;t missed a beat in over six years of ownership. Automatics are lovely to behold, but IF I get another watch, I'm getting a quartz.

I'm after a shark-mesh bracelet for the Glycine at the moment but everything for sale on-line is either the wrong size or looks cheap and shit.

Avoid http://www.ttw888.com if you're looking for a replica/fake. I am pretty sure I saw not only a recommendation on here but one on a watch forum for the site.

Unfortunately I have learned first hand that what he sells is shit. Not only did it arrive not working but I then had to return it and wait 6 weeks (£10 postage to return) for it to come back exactly the same.

If you got a decent watch from him then great, but what he sold me is shit and the service is shit.

I'm after a reasonably 'plain' but modern black leather strap watch, can anyone recommend a brand? I've been looking at Fossil and Police, the Police ones look a bit mental on the sizes though and tend to have huge faces, don't really want to spend more than £80 ideally. Don't want anything with blag croc skin either, just flat plain black leather.

Was looking at this but am not mad on the roman numerals.

I really like some of the watches I see on this architecture/design website I look at all the time....

It's UK based as well.

The face has slipped on my TAG, so essentially it still tells the correct time as the hands are in the right place but the face is skewiff, ie the 12 is where the 3 should be. This "slippage" can vary depending on whether i have to run for the train or something.

I'm assuming that some sort of magnet has slipped. Anyone else had a similar problem with their watch and if so, how much did it cost to fix?

Have a look at Boccia watches. They make their cases in titanium and the leather-strapped watches look quite plain and formal. I have one that's modeled on the Mondaine Swiss railway clock and it looks great. Available on Amazon for about £50.
