I'll never understand stuff like this: two gazania, the same variety, planted in the same place at the same time, but one's flowering beautifully while the other one isn't even thinking of producing a bud.

One is a tory hoovering up the sun,the other is fighting its hardest to get just a taste now and again.

Is it too late to grow any veg for this year anyone know ? Was thinking of making a long planter to cover an unsightly area at the front of a raised deck

Depends what you want to grow and/or you could start with young plants rather than seed…which the birds/snails would only eat anyway

That’s really pretty against the stone.

You must be in the north Lakes somewhere?

I read today that the massive Mappiness study of human happiness has concluded that the 4 things that contribute most to individuals happiness are nature, exercise, cooking and gardening. You can see that from this thread, maybe not so much in the Breakfast one.

Right - I’ve got a rat in the green bin. What do I do?  My current favoured option is leave the fucker there and let the bin men deal with it.

Shouldn't it be in the brown bin? They might not take it otherwise.

Either tip the bin on its side so it can crawl out or put something heavy on the lid and the rat will die of thirst in a day or so or get crushed in the bin lorry. Depends how much you dislike rats

My question. How did it get in there?

Q2. What do you want to happen to it?

It’s been a good year so far for the roses and  my first dahlia flower has appeared. Every year I’m astonished how Mother Nature can make something so mathematically precise but yet so beautiful at the same time. Maybe there is a god after all (no there isn’t).

I’m assuming…

1. Doesn’t know (or care).
2. For it to fuck off.

Happened to me a few months back mate. I opened the wheelie bin and it screamed, shit myself slammed the lid and it screamed again. God knows how it got in there. I booted the bin over and ran like fuck. Haven't seen it since.

I suspect it's still running round somewhere like this

There’s definitely a joke for number 2 somewhere in there but it’s early and I’m tired.

We live next to a bridal way and then a farm so guess there’s loads.

To make it better our neighbour opened out bin to see if the bin men had been and saw it.  He came round and told Carole. She’s now mortified.

My grass is fucked from the dog shitting, pissing and generally wrecking it. I'm away for a couple of weeks at the end of the month and was thinking I'd try do something to take advantage of the dog being away from it. Anyone have experience with this or is it just the case of my garden will forever be a shithole.
