I had Beef Wellington for the first time ever yesterday. Fuck me... it was absolutely next level. Never really appealed to me because on paper medium rare beef wrapped inside pastry, just doesn’t seem right. Boy was I wrong on every level.

Venue: The Hemingway, Hackney

Price: £39 for 2, so I paid £19.50

Verdict: Incredible

Any good at ceviche Col? I’m not big on fish, but always have a crack when I see ceviche on offer.

I love it mate but to be honest I’ve not really done it at home.

You really want the freshest possible fish for ceviche.

The tiger milk is an arse to get right as well and you have to make it to use pretty much straight away as it only has a few hour shelf life.

Lovely stuff though.

Yeah, you could easily go wrong trying to make ceviche at home. You would need to bring in sushi grade to be safe.

No chance I eat raw sea bass from a regular market.

To be fair I maybe fucked for eating it now, will have to check with my dietitian.

I won’t call it a ‘pie’ as Tone will go apeshit.

So I’ll call it a dish of chicken, ham and leek with a pastry lid.

Turdseye can fuck off on my duck not being comfort food though.

I’m going to Duck and Waffle for lunch today.  The idea of eating duck with waffle is not doing it for me.

Col - also looking for recommendations for a decent restaurant in Bristol too.
