Had some pub grub last night, lasagne and triple cooked chips. Simple, but delicious. When lasagne is done right it's amazing.

Like a true heathen, I still asked for a bit of ketchup and fucked the salad off.

I agree. Can you still get the proper stuff?

I don't think so.

To be honest, I never drink fizzy juice. I worry about my teeth too much.

Onion rings = brilliant

Chicken wings = pretty good

Did we ever get a verdict on the falafels?

Doing keto so got these from M&S...

Not sure a pizza with a sausage base is a good idea but beggars can't be choosers.

Had an amazing meal at a place called La Brocherie where I'm staying at the minute. The seafood is caught daily so the set menu is flexible depending on what they have caught and they bring all the fish round in a big basket so you can view it.

Set menu of 5 starters:

Platter of Oysters, Large Gambas and Brown shrimp

Salmon gravlax

A russian salad with salmon tartar in

Fried whitebait with home made mayo (amazing)

Main choice of fish of the day. I had whole Dorado and she had seared tuna. Both simply cooked with vegetable sides. So fresh and flavoursome.

Cheese board

Dessert. I had omellete Norwegian which is the french take on baked Alaska and she had a tartatin.

€44 a head for amazing quality seafood, most of which, probably hadn't travelled more than a mile from sea to plate.

Col should open his own restaurant.

Oh my god. Just seen the haggis and chicken burrito. I wish I was in Edinburgh.

Usually just do it by eye tbh - probably 10 parts water to 1 salt is close. I use sugar or honey as well. For a roaster you might add rosemary.

For chicken wings I always use salt, sugar and dry pickling spices straight out of the jar.

It is definitely worth it.
