Anyone else on here into Korean cooking?

Did a stir fry marinade using Gochujang paste, honey, soy sauce, ginger and garlic. Fried some steak and vegetables with it and served with jasmine rice. Threw a few cashews in. Spring onions. Sesame seeds to finish. Was fucking impressed with it to be honest!

Love it - korean bbq is pretty easy to do at home - thin sliced rib eye or short rib - delicioso.

That and a side of kimchi is really all you need.

Also do a doenjang broth with tofu and spring onions, super easy to make - tremendous.

Kimchi fried rice is on a par with crack cocaine in the moreishness stakes. I’ve been using these Korean chilli flakes as well,  gochigurru I think you pronounce it? Very distinctive. Taste amazing with stir fried chicken sesame and honey.

Although it sounds tasty, you’ve obviously not tried crack cocaine. One of my favourite crack tales is the dealer who laid on a couple of grim hookers as a freebie in his crack house. Apparently the first shot goes straight to your dick so the male customers were going home to shag the missus rather than hang around all night spending £500 plus. He laid on the hookers to counter this and made a lot more money as a result. A great example of a marginal low cost complimentary product enhancing the value of your core offering. They should teach this in business schools.

Gochugaru. You need it, or at least something similar, because the gochujang paste you get here in the supermarkets - while nice - is so mild, it's basically like miso paste that's red.

Not much of a Socialist forum is it? It's like that shit on the telly, food heaven or food hell.

Are Socialists not allowed to eat well? Especially when they cook it themselves?

I've never had Korean but it sounds fucking good

Unfortunately to my cost I have tried crack cocaine many times in the past. I’m a recovering addict. I’m happy to report I’ll be 18 months clean next week. My life is unrecognisable really to how it was at my lowest ebb a couple of years ago. One of the key factors in my recovery has been getting into cooking. I love it. Hence my last couple of posts in here.

Ha ha! No offence taken. It’s funny how someone mentioned socialists talking about all this la di da middle class stuff like kim chi etc.
I really don’t fit the profile of a stereotypical drug addict either. I can’t let on about it at work for example. Only close friends, family and people I know in recovery are aware of it. Which is why it’s nice to blow my own trumpet once in a while. Even if it is only on here!
