Went early this month for my son in law’s 30th. He’s a chef so it was a something he had been desperate to do with the chef there being Michelin rated.

 

The problem I had is that I am not a fish or seafood lover and as you can see from the menu we received it is firmly slanted in that direction.

 

With the taster menu they take you for a tour of the kitchen and it is quite informative although I think that working day in day out on one dish or one aspect of the dish seems a dreary prospect.

 

The tastes and sauces were absolutely fantastic and beautifully presented and it was immense as a one-off experience although probably wasted on a philistine like me who would have been probably better off with a steak in the barn part of the restaurant.

A scotch pie is a scotch pie though, cheap & cheerful. I couldn't say I've ever had one that stood out.

A Scottish mate of mine in Pompey used to eat about 5 scotch pies from Farmfoods everyday. Loved them.
