Any tips?

I have got toad in the hole lined up on the menu this week and last time I tried to make it, it barely rose so was more like toad in the pancake.

100g plain flour

100ml whole milk

2 eggs

salt

pepper

thyme.

Leave to settle for at least 2 hours.

Cook them under the grill apparently.

Really hot oven and do them in a metal tray/baking dish. Put your fat/oil into the tray/dish and heat it to temperature and then add the mixture as quickly as you can and straight back in the oven

Tried some Grim Reaper sausages from Aldi last night, they're so called because they're made with Carolina Reaper chillies and are devilishly hot. Ordinarily I scoff at such warnings, but these really did warrant the warning.

The other half of my review will be in the Poosflash thread.

Something’s no right there.

And you followed my suggestions which gives me results like this

...then it’s either your recipe or your oven’s not working properly

I went with Lifey’s Yorkshire recipe.

250C on the fan forced oven. Banged the batter in as quick as I could. Worst I’ve ever made.

The difference is so stark, it's like the satellite photo of North and South Korea at night.
