Leftover pumpkins from halloween are often just left to rot, but since the wife insisted I buy six of them this year (they are cheap) I decided to make a pumpkin and chickpea curry last night.

Turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself. No firm recipe - just followed basic curry procedure.

Roasted 1/2 pumpkin (1" pieces) to brown and soften. Fry onions, add spices, tomato paste, coconut milk, add chickpeas and roasted pumpkin and then a bit of water to thin.

The pumpkin was mild, not overpowering at all.

Anyone recommend a decent shop bought Yule Log? I don’t want one that consists of a cheapo, dry Swiss roll. I’m generally not a fan of M&S cakes, as I find them too dry and, surprisingly, too sugary.

Their Tiramisu cake is dynamite, Tony. I nearly had a hissy fit when I asked the women what had happened to them the other week & she pointed out that it was a 'summer line'. She delivered her blow with the cool & deadly stare you would expect from a would-be assassin as well, utterly devastating stuff.

M&S are bastards for doing that. Tiramisu a summer cake - what a load of bollocks!

Did you find one, Tone?
