I've maxed my imageshack account. Cath can post the pic for me.

Busy in the garden. Anyway, you seemed to manage yourself. What do you mean 'maxed' though? Is there a storage limit?

Anyone been watching spring kitchen with Tom Kerridge?

Put the first episode on while rain stopped play earlier. He came across more relaxed than in Proper Pub Food but what he was doing was a bit too cheffy for me. I don't watch food programmes just to watch I want to see things I want and can make at home

We bought some frozen crayfish from IKEA a few weeks ago. Just gone to defrost them for tomorrow, was thinking risotto but there are fucking loads of them. Any suggestions?

Get them on the barbecue

Mother's day in America tomorrow. Got a special dinner lined up for Mrs G, her favorite - surf and turf. Got some lovely Gulf Shrimp, big blue ones, which I will cook gently in garlic and butter. Then we'll have rib-eye steaks, medium rare, with mushrooms and asparagus. Got some good red wine too. Looking forward to it.

The kids wanted to do breakfast in bed for Mrs G, but I leave early on Sunday mornings and we can't do it then, so we did that this morning. Toasted bagels with cream cheese, capers and smoked salmon, with freshly squeezed orange juice and a nice cafetiere of coffee. First time I'd added the capers to the cream cheese, and it gave the whole thing a lift.

  • 2 weeks later...

Made a Harissa today so that I could make a nice Moroccan Cauliflower and Almond soup. Used Hungarian hot peppers as I couldn't find fresh red peppers. It is hot but amazing. The missus refuses to eat it without adding half a pot of Greek yoghurt but then ate two bowls, so it must be good. The rest of the Harissa is getting eaten with cheesy breadsticks, hmmm
