What's the best thing on an ice cream van?

Very rarely we get Ice Cream vans over here in Germany. We have Ice Cream cafe's though, an Ice Cream paradise. Can't beat sitting out in the sun having your favourite concoction.

I’ve got no recollection of starting this thread at all.

My kids heard the ice cream van round ours last week for the first time this year but I had no cash and ice cream men are paedo dinosaurs that won’t take card payments. Told the kids they could have one the next day, got some cash out in the morning and listened out all afternoon. Nothing. Same the next day.

Day after that I took them to the shop and spent the best part of twenty quid on cones, loads of sprinkles, three types of ice cream and strawberry/chocolate sauce. We got home and as I’m stood unpacking everything the knobhead came driving up the street with his music chiming out. Talk about timing.

A "shell" was always my favourite thing.  Just two plain shell shaped wafers with a load of whippy and raspberry inside, no oyster crap with chocolate coating and marshmallow and shit.

Also a coconut Feast was heavenly, but short lived.

Our icey man did hotdogs too for a time, they were alright, nothing special.

My two boys have just told me they've never had a cider lolly, that's getting rectified darn quickly.

Not heard of those. Cider lolly?

Sold on almost every ice-cream van in the country. Maybe you need your dad to go buy you one

My dad spends every day of his life now in a wheelchair as a result of severe multiple sclerosis so the days of him buying anyone an ice cream from a van are long gone.

Sorry to hear about your old man. This is what a cider lolly looks like:

Is it actually made of alcoholic cider? Or is it just apple juice?
