I think he needs more time. I do think he's full of himself every single time he gets a bit confident he fucks up. Every single time Allen and gerrard are the only midfielders we are absolute gash, how can you not learn from that. Why ignore previous evidence its totally fucking stupid. Its said repeating the same thing and expecting different results each time is madness, well it is so fucking pack it in. On a side note my auntie has live in London for 30 years and she says pack it up. Pack it up or pack it in. Gotta be in surely.

No major company in the situation we were in would ever have contemplated an appointment of an inexperience and unproven man. It makes no sense. (

No company ever becomes a company without taking a risk to make it a company.

Sacking Kenny was the mistake, he united the fans and the club, they should have given him one more year.

Rodgers appointment divided the fans again, and turned fans against the owners, that was the mistake. But Rodgers is a modern day manager with a clear vision, style and system. Adding to that he has worked with youth, travelled around europe to learn and worked with some big managers to try and learn.

He did a fantastic job with swansea, they played teams off the park last year, comfortably kept them in the league and they have kicked on and won a cup on the back of that this year. Teams actually fear the way they play, and are unsure how to handle them at times.

It was a risk, but we needed to take a risk. For too long we have gone with experience in terms of managers, player recruitment and selection and its got us nowhere....

Give the guy some time, he has been here 8 months and is working with some shit players. Even if 1 or 2 players arent good enough to play his style it all breaks down, having those players isnt his fault, he didn't buy them all.

He has come up against two relatively inexperienced managers recently,Clarke and Poccatino and failed miserably. Seems to suggest hes not even the best of rest as a manager either.

I just cant believe in him until he changes some of the things he seems to believe are infallible. Stopping overplaying at the back and changing the formation to suit the players too.

This is without mentioning the shambles at the back too.

He does need to adapt his tactics better according to who we are playing and if we are home or away, that i agree on.

Playing from the back is his way and i dont think he should change that. Skrtel and Brad Jones made so many bad decisions when they had the ball yesterday it resulted in us having to hoof it clear and we kept giving the ball back to them.

I think the reason he wont change playing from the back is because he knows the players he has inherited just cant do it, thats not his fault.

If he rips up his plan for "the now" he cant build the system into the players for the future. He needs to be clear on his way from day one and not waver in my opinion. We just have too many shit/ordinary players who arent comfortable on the ball. If you drum this system into good players and our youth players we will see the fruits of this in the future, thats my opinion.

This i really do agree on, they just can't play together and he does need to stop trying it.

Thats why i said in a post yesterday that i hope he isnt showing a favourtism towards the players he signed by forcing it and trying to make it happen, and prove they are good buys. That would be his downfall if its true.

Good managers realise quickly when a player just isnt working out and they either ship them out, or take them out of the team until confidence improves, or try them in different position or with a different partner (especially in the middle)

Rafa used to overplay Lucas even when it wasnt working he would not change, that was the start of his demise. Good managers see when shit isnt working and they change it fast. I hope Rodgers turns out to be like this sooner rather than later.

He hooked allen at half time, and he shipped out sahin pronto, so im hoping he does have this ability in his locker.

We will never win the league under Rodgers so we can just as well sack him at the end of the season as its just a waste of time to continue with him.

You dont win a league without a good defense, Rodgers knows nothing about how to sort out the defensive part of the game and its been shown everywhere he has been as a manager.

Yeah he hooked Allen at half time but the problem was we needed an extra midfielder on, Lucas shored us up a bit but we were still losing the midfield battle, the fact Rodgers just kept watching and watching like it was all gonna come good at any point was massively frustrating. Why do our managers constantly ignore simple observations.

Jones, allen and skrtel made our defensive spine very weak yesterday.

2 of those players he did not sign, and the other he made a huge mistake in playing ahead of lucas.

But how long have Carra, agger, srktel and reina been out our club? We have struggled to challenge every year with them and in the last 4 years have been totally shocking in most departments.

You can have a god defence but if they cant play football you will have shit attack. Its all about balance and having players who can defend but also play with the ball to help build attacks.

You only lose the midfield battle if you cant keep prolonged attacks on the opposition, if the other teams midfield has to drop and drop because we are keeping the ball in their half it would allow us to squeeze them.

We just didnt play enough good quality, composed passes into sturridge and suarez and i think that came from jones, skrtel and allen being so shit yesterday. Jones and skrtel just hoofed it under the slightest pressure and southamptons midfield picked up the balls because they were aimless. Allen couldnt pass the ball forward and that also fucked us up.

Nightcat, yes i do think we will qualify in the champions league under him, next year or the year after. And i strongly believe Rodgers type of football will be much better suited to us being a success in the CL aswell.

Look at City, they got there twice but look totally fucking shit, united look shit year on year with their style too.

The players are not the problem, the manager and his set up is.

I think the players we have arent that good, many of them. They arent Liverpool class and dont have the quality we need to take us back to the top.

Reina has lost heaps of form

Carra was never good with the ball, lacked pace, but strong and read the game well but he was a "get rid" defender. His clearances never allowed us to retain possession and build attacks.

Agger is not strong enough, not that quick, and gets bullied off the ball by bigger strikers. But he is good on the ball.

Skrtel is way to rash, conceades far too many free kicks and isnt good enough on the ball. He also isnt that fast.

The list goes on:

Dirk Kuyt, great worker, run through a brick wall but lacked a first touch and creativity.

I could do this for just about 80% of the liverpool players we have brought over the last 10+ years.

To sustain a league challenge and not have players who have all qualities is hard.

United brought rio ferdinand for 30 million, as much as i hate the prick, he is a great defender, quick, strong, reads the game well and is very cool and composed on the ball and can pass.

Kompany is similar, has many qualities and fewer faults than our players.

Vidic is strong, a leader, quick (ish), great in the air, defending and attacking.

I think we have lacked real quality for so many years but we think what we have is good enough and sadly its not.

Rodgers system exposes these players even more, and i think thats needed. We need to give someone time to buy the right players and i think that man is Rodgers. He spent 20 million very well in January and made us more of a threat going forward. Lets give him time now to find the right defenders.

Pochettino is a huge risk for Saints, and it is too early to draw comparisions.

The KK /Clarke dynamic is unknown, but Clarke has done very well with limited resources at Albion. Unfortunately there is no-one at the Club with sufficient football knowledge to have been able to make a judgement on Clarke's credentials.

There is an argument that he would have been less a risk, and offered greater continuity, than Rodgers.

This was because we had no option due to Southampton reading our very predictable game plan. Refusing to buy a strong forward when we are forced to play direct when pressed high up the pitch is a bit naive on Rodgers part.

Lack of a back up plan perhaps?

My point is that an inexperienced Pocchetino was able to work out and nullify our tactics in no time at all.

Clarke did in the first game but got a bit lucky in the return fixture but still capitalised on our failures to score.

5 Liverpool players you have had a pop at there, who all individually achieved more than our coach.

Have all played in the biggest games in world football, and you would rather trust a man who's greatest achievement to date is getting promoted out of the championship.

I have not had a pop at them, i have just highlighted that they lack certain qualities and the fact we have been shit for over 4 years in the league now highlights this.

Dirk was a prime example, he was loved by the fans but he won only 1 trophy in his 6 odd years at the club.

Carra has been part of 1 title challenge in his entire time at the club, do you think thats good enough? And that is not me having a pop at him, its just stating a fact

We need to realise the current players simply arent good enough, even the ones who we think are.......possibly arent either?

We have played systems that suit these players, but that doesnt mean they are the right systems to build a platform upon to get us consistent enough to win the league and challenge every year.

Its time to stop finding systems that suit our players and exposes their weaknesses less and its time to have a system that works and find the players to suit that system. That will give us long term success.

I disagree

Good players, better players and players who dont shit themselves at the first sign of being closed down will just drop a shoulder, shield the ball, play a one, two. Even run with the ball because they are confident in their own ability and get themselves out of trouble.

Shitter players just smash the ball away because they dont want to take the risk and get caught out, this just gives the ball back to your opponents more often than not and this is where this whole system breaks down.

There's a difference between players who are shit, and players who couldn't give a shit, or who play like shit to make a point.

Enter my conspiracy theory[/i] . . . . .

I have this feeling that wont go away - that something happened in the week in between this game (Southampton) and the win against Spurs.

I think we're seeing team politics come into play.

Sturridge is increasingly finding himself isolated and having to go looking for the ball, and its since Coutinho has arrived: I tend to think that Coutinho and Suarez have struck up not only a very good playing partnership, but a friendship too...

We all know that the Latin contingent (Lucas, Reina, Enrique and Suarez) socialise together (see Being Liverpool), and its natural that Coutinho would join the gang. That's a block of players giving each other support, both on and off the field. Suarez would carry a lot of weight, opinion wise, particularly if he's onside with Stevie G (club captain)

If BR felt the need to stop the ostrasizing of Allen - Lucas back from injury, and cementing his role as number one defensive midfielder - then he'd drop Lucas (which he appears to have done v Southampton) and he'd push Allen (replacing Lucas v Southampton).

That might go over like a lead balloon, and all of a sudden, you've got a bunch of players pissed off (supposedly Reina was still unfit.) Pissed off players play like shit. There you have it.

I'd expect to see BR ship out all the Latino players come Summer in a Stalin like putsch. Watch this space......

Wowzers thats a little far fethced in my opinion

I agree in terms of them all being friends and hanging out together.

Do you think the British players then slate Suarez because he doesnt pass the ball to them when they are better placed at times?

I'm sure the players have a moan in their own clicks, but that happens in every club from the very top down to sunday league, its just the nature of football......everyone has an opinion.

'The players are not the problem. The manager and his set up is' says Code 72. Let's look at some of the games we've drawn and lost then - what sticks out ?

1 - Man City at home - Skrtel not looking as he made the back pass - cost us 2 points, i repeat a guy on a fortune not looking as he made a back pass.

2 - Man City away - Reina going walkabout cost us 2 points.

3 - WBA at home - Agger losing his man for goal one and then letting Lukaku take the pish and run by him for goal 2. He should have chopped him down at least and took the consequences for the 2nd goal as any United defender would have done.

3 examples off the top of my head but I am know there are plenty more. Look at Gerrard yesterday for the third - why wasn't he bombing after their player when it broke down ? That's his job as a cm !

These are not run of the mill mistakes and fuck ups. A number of the players are clearly not up to it and it is their fault not the managers.
