Last season our attacking options at the start were Suarez, Borini, Sterling, Downing & Suso. This season we could be starting with Suarez, Sturridge, Coutinho, Costa, Sterling, Borini, Ibe and Downy.

Some change in twelve months.

This costa is like a 'poor mans' Hulk..........he could potentially be better actually , Hulk is very hit and miss every-time i've seen him play. Certainly not worth 40m.

I've only seen him a handful of times at best actually, he looked like a great player for at least a few of those though. Didn't realise he had consistency issues, but he'd probably do well over here in the right side.

Is this official or all part of the dance, so the scouts have done their job up to Ayre to complete the job.

Looks promising though if he has a buyout clause and we have met it, hopefully they have sounded out his wage demands and stuff before briefing the local media.

Althtico are claiming we've not bid according to AS.

Didn't this start from a daily fail story?

Also Spurs have now spent just under £50 million on players this window. Arsenal have yet to spend but have a alleged £70 to £80 million to spend.

Meanwhile we want to keep Luis to help us into 4 th place , yeah right somebody is having a laugh there.

If we don't start buying first team players then there is no point keeping Luis and we should cash in while his price is high.

Yeah, but James Pearce from the Echo said we've bid. So we've bid. He said it was the release clause of £21.8m, so it was the release clause of £21.8m. Simple as that really.

Anybody see this coming?

Looks a good finisher from what I ve seen on youtube

I noticed on Twitter that he has shot to goal ratio of over 20% in his last four seasons, the Premier League average is 10%. Suarez's last season was 12.5%. So might be doing okay in that department.

We haven't bid. It's all an FSG ruse to fool us.

Cunts.

Yeah, and they've got James Pearce, Tony Barrett and Andy Hunter from the Guardian to all play along with their machinations. Those cunning stunts.

This discussion comes up every summer - no young, top class German player leaves Germany - ever.

Ozil is the one people came up with last time this was discussed - he went to Real, and is not really German, just kinda.

Gunter Netzer.

Do I win a prize?

Liverpool defender Daniel Agger linked with Barcelona move

• Agger's agent contacted by representative of La Liga club

• Barça and Manchester City have previously shown interest

Andy Hunter

Daniel Agger has been linked with a move to Barcelona for a second successive summer after an approach was made to the Liverpool defender's agent, Per Steffensen.

Steffensen is understood to have been contacted by an agent claiming to represent the Spanish champions, rather than by Barcelona themselves, and Liverpool have not received any approaches for the Denmark international.

The Anfield club are unlikely to welcome a move for the influential 28-year-old, with Jamie Carragher having retired, Martin Skrtel's future in doubt and Sebastián Coates having failed to convince the manager Brendan Rodgers.

Agger was the subject of firm interest from Barcelona and Manchester City last summer but signed a new long-term contract with Liverpool in October.

The Liverpool and England Under-21 left-back Jack Robinson, meanwhile, has joined Paul Ince's Blackpool on a season-long loan.
