We really need to tighten up at the back so I'd include Skrtel and go with 3 at the back with Johnson and Downing pushed on. Lucas holding providing extra cover where required. I know Gerrard has played deeper under Rodgers but we have so few genuine goal scoring options I don't see the point in surrounding Suarez with the likes of Borini, Sterling and Downing in a front 3 when you can push Gerrard up next to him as part of a midfield 5.

 

I really hope we stay in this competition. Staring down the barrel of 10 or 11 meaningless league games between now and May sickens me.

Fingers crossed Rodgers realises his mistake the other night and plays a recognised centre forward alongside Suarez. It gives the whole team so much more shape - even if the centre forward isn't a world beater.
