I think England really held it together well in the first half and they were stout in defence. Where they come unstuck is that they don't have the guile to make plays when they're on the attack. Too much slow ball and too much reliance on Farrell and penalties. The scrum situation did favour Wales from the ref but I suppose when the Welsh scrum has been so dominant recently he's giving an unfair benefit of the doubt to them. Overall Wales are a better team at the moment than England and they fed off that atmosphere today and took the game away from England. Wales raised their game against the Aussies on tour and fell inches short in every game, they should have had France off if not for Warburton's red and the only place they struggled was the Autumn internationals when they were getting used to having a makeshift coach and lots of injuries. Everyone loves beating England though so rather than the English sulking about everyone raising their game against them, maybe they need to look at raising their game against their rivals. Not today though, they were over powered. Terrific contest though and nothing beats your team winning when you're surrounded by the enemy.

We'll all be friends for the Lions though.

We had two very good situations at important times in the game to go in for a try, but we fluffed them due to poor decision making. Each time wales went up the other end and put points on the board, notably on the second chance when you scored a try off the back of this. The rest is pretty spot on.

I will add one thing. We fucked up against Italy big time, it was like we were playing within ourselves, we should have put in 100% more and made the margin for Wales winning the championship harder. The pressure would have been more and we all know what that does.

Not sure what to make of England on the whole, we showed discipline in most games and held onto the ball at crucial times, we crumbled today.

The whole Scrum is becoming a bit of a joke. Wales' has improved a lot but it wasn't that long ago it was getting destroyed. The only team to have a reasonably consistent scrum throughout the 6N has been France. Something isn't quite right in the refs interpretation for their to be such a game by game swing around. Its a bit of a lottery at present and it's really fucking annoying how much time it takes out of the game.

Wales were too strong for England today. They looked like they wanted it more. They went into contact (with or without the ball) with more vigour than England. I would still like to see another Intelligent player in that Wales backline (such as Hook) because although it worked today the battering Ram does become predictable and against big units like NZ & SA it won't work as well.

Looking too the Lions I hope Gatland doesn't go for 2 bruisers in the middle even though that will be effective against some weaker Australia midfield

Back to today. England are a young team and it will give them some valuable experience. There's certainly a few tweaks to be made to the overall team/squad and the quicker Armitage is available for selection at 6 the better. Signs are good though looking forward to the World Cup as the strength in depth is very decent and competition for places is good.

Oh & the atmosphere was simply awesome

What a performance that was! Have to say though, at times Englands defence was brilliant and very well organised.

I wasn't confident we'd be able to do it but fuck me that was good. It's been a shit 6 nations overall though, performances by majority have been shocking and well below what they can do.

Its been a mixed 6N.

Massively disappointed with France who have all the basis for an outstanding team but yet again let down by factions in the camp (maybe?) and downright stupid team selections. Ireland have been poor but not helped by Injuries. Wales got better as the tournament went on. England are a young team in transition, some very goo stuff, some very average crap thrown in. The two big pluses is that Scotland & Italy have been better. Not just down to other teams not being as good either.

the scrum should be binned. they should give a free kick if you are in your own half and a line out if you are over the halfway imo. The game would flow better and it means the ref is not blind to players not binding on his blind side and causing the scrum to collapse. plus how many times do teams push illegally and get away with it.

It was like men against boys, England need some changes.

more tweaks that major surgery.

I don't like the back 3 line up. Ashton is horribly out of form but Goode is more of a steady full back than a line breaker and although Brown has done well on the wing he's not a natural there.

We need to sort the scrum half position out. We have a few good scrum halves but non excel imo. Farrell is like what Wilkinson was, a solid #10 but he needs a creative player outside him. Brad Barritt is a great defensive player but England will need more if they are to progress. We need another Greenwood. Billy Twelvetrees maybe?

Croft looked well short today but he has been out for a long time with a serious injury. Personally i'd move him back to 8 to utilise his pace and mobility and bring in Armitage at 6 (the stupid rule of not picking french based players needs abolishing)

This is where club and country comes in. Lancaster should be talking to club coaches and for example getting clubs to play Croft and Twelvetrees/Tuilagi in different positions.

Well-deserved win by Wales who would have won anyway , but I can't be the only English fan whose heart sinks when they see that smug bastard of a ref lining up at the kick off. He has been cheating us for at least 10 years and while I think the lack of abuse to refs in Union is brilliant, it also has the slight drawback in cases like this where sides can't really say anything even when a ref's one-eyedness is so blatant.

On the team itself, I think the players are there to make us a very good side.

I am reasonably happy with the pack options although I don't see Marler & Wilson are good enough, Corbisiero can't come back quick enough and Armitage's absence is infuriating.

Our main problems to me are 10 with Farrell limited & Flood petrified, and 12/13 where we need a subtler foil for Manu. I also feel we need to go back to a specialist 15 although Goode has done OK.

Hope we pummel the kiwis in the second test, just to fuck up his smug attitude to life. Wales didn't need his help as they were by far the superior team, but he made sure they got a helping hand. On one occasion he was being a rite twat about a matter of cm's at a scrum set, the cunt should be binned from the refereeing list, for no other reason than he is utter shite.

Farrell is ok at #10 imo, I'd rather a steady 10 but good goal kicker than a hit & miss creative one. Dan Carter is a one off, there hasn't been a 10 anywhere near his league for sometime.

I don't think the constant chopping and changing at 9 is doing us any favours. As I said I think all #9 options are good but they all have their flaws. We need to pick on and stick with him so he can build a relationship with the pack and backs. Despite his poor performance last week I'd go with Care. He's a more progressive scrum half than Youngs. Like we did so succesfully under Woodward with Wiko we need to balance the backs between power, pace and running ability. While Manu is also great at powering forward he really should also be out rock in the center meaning we should have a runner or creative player. I'd like to see Twelvetress there or in the future Tomkins.

It was an even game and that fucking ref decided to fuck England royally!

Every scrum he just gave penalties against England and it was bullshit.

They are so hard to judge who is at fault, even on the slow replays, but he decided every single one of them England were to blame. The fucking cunt.

Furious!

Says the Welshman.

I think they are very even. Being at home and that fucking ref swayed it in their favour today.

I hate that ref, it is the same guy that fucked England in the world cup final vs South Africa.

It was even in the first half, despite the ref still fucking over England.

Both defenses were dominant.

But that ref just kept giving penalties at scrums and eventually it was too much.

The fucking cunt! I thought Wales would win, they played well. But I thought England played OK as well. But there was not much they could do when the ref was acting the way he did.

The ref who used to be a Kiwi, but is now an Aussie - how long before he's Welsh? He is abysmal, he 's been conning England for years, saying that, most refs do seem anti English. As expected, he got the scrum wrong......

9/10 times I'd expect England to win, but I find it hard to accept a defeat like that, somethings not right.

I think he is alluding to the fact it was quite even until the ref started to take a dislike to England. No doubting you were the better team on the day, but turn the tables and you'd be a bit miffed. Not about the result, but about the fact a referee can tip the balance at important stages of the game.

Lucky to get 3.

Dominated from start to finish as they just weren't up for it as much as Wales and were too cautious to give it a real go until the game was gone.

Ridiculously naive in the scrummage. Walsh was telling them what he wanted and they just ignored him. He should have yellow carded the whole front row for stupidity.

Cant agree there mate .That was a one sided game of rugby.

England were getting penalised at scrum time because Wales were dominating them.I can only remember England threatening the Welsh line once and that was when the game was done and dusted.Sorry but i dont think yere as good as the English press made ye out to be.

Over reaction to beating an All Blacks side that was thinking of going home after a gruelling season.

I don't think England are that good, I don't think Wales are either - the rankings prove that! There was an OTT reaction after the New Zealand result, when actually England lost the other two Autumn games.

It looked one sided with the result, but the ref ensured it was one sided with his decisions at the scrum. Constant penalties against England which were just unjust.

Scrums should be scrapped, they are impossible to judge. Even on the slow replay you couldn't tell who was at fault.

That ref swung the match in Wales favour and it is not right.

I have always hated that ref, he's a cunt.
