Haha I'm actually going to that. Trying to get an interview with the man himself as well - it's for radio but I'll throw it up on Youtube all being well. This man made the Citizen Kane of bad cinema ffs!

Right, trivia time.

 

Dave Vanian of The Damned spent a good while being obsessed by Maila Nurmi ("Vampira"), who starred in that film. He wrote a song called Plan 9 Channel 7, and they made a video for it, using Vanian's wife at the time, Lori, 'playing' the part of Nurmi.

 

Absolute belter of a tune it is too.
