He will be the long term Iniesta replacement imo. He's out long term now and not getting younger

That would also work, but not with the three ahead of him. Anyway, hopefully we don't get to find out mate.

Why not?

When has he played for us or Brazil in such a system and had success mate? It could work, who is to know, I just find it highly unlikely that is how any team would get the best out of him.

He played in the midfield effectively a couple years ago. He has always been pretty good in the tackle and thrives with movement in front of him. I think he would be an upgrade on Iniesta in that position honestly.

Not sure about that myself mate. Barca play the same formation as us. 4-3-3. They have,

Neymar---Suarez ------ Messi.

Coutinho has played the best football of his career since Klopp has played him in the same formation.

Coutinho---Firminho------Mane

Why would you replace World class with effectiveness just to accommodate Neymar who is not as good in that position as Coutinho IMO.

Coutinho's a better left winger than midfielder and he's now verging on world-class, but there is no way he's as good as Neymar.

Coutinho has matured as a player all around - that is as big a part of the equation as anything. Remember when he couldnt finish? Figured that bit out hasn't he. His vision and close control are at the top of the world game and he is alot tougher than some might think. He could play in either position mentioned for any team and contribute at the highest level.

Barca dont need anymore goals and there is no way(barring selling him outright) that they dont play Neymar.

Think he's found a home as a left winger. There's been a lot of argument about where he's most effective, because he's such a talent player you can play him anywhere in midfield and attack and he'll look brilliant. Remember Rodgers player him as a CF against Newcastle and he was the best player on the pitch. When he first came Rodgers played him as LM in a 4-2-3-1 and he was superb. However, there were certain games Spurs and Chelsea where they did a proper job on him and he was invisible. I liked him in that 3 in 13/14, he put his foot in and got on the ball a lot. However, Klopp has it right , you're wasting a lad of this talent the further from goal you put him. He looks like a genuine 20 goal a season player from that left wing.

If you are South American, Madrid and Barca are just that.

This should be in the shitness of modern football thread.

When I was in South America there were fuck all Barca and Real shirts around. People support their own teams. It's only in the last 10 years or so that we get this bullshit of "all South Americans want to naturally play for Barca or Real Madrid."

Coincidentally when they've paid more money than other clubs and been winning more often than any time in their history (particularly in Barcelona's case).

Probably made up nonsense but...

Reports in Spain suggest Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho is interested in a move to La Liga giants Barcelona.

On Friday Spanish outlet Sport revealed Barcelona have made Coutinho their number one target for next summer.

And this weekend they suggest Coutinho is aware of the Catalan club’s interest, and is keen on a move to the Camp Nou.

Coutinho has been in impressive for so far this season, helping Liverpool to the top of the Premier League and starring with a wonder goal in Brazil’s 3-0 win over Argentina.

Barca boss Luis Enrique wants to unite the 24-year-old with international team-mate Neymar, while former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez is also among their ranks.

Coutinho has previously insisted he is happy at Anfield, but Barca would be able to offer a significant pay rise.

The former Inter Milan attacking midfielder currently earns around £80,000-a-week, according to the Liverpool Echo, which is much less than the likes of Jordan Henderson, James Milner and Daniel Sturridge.
