Philippe Coutinho

Recommended Posts

A few reports saying we have bid £6.5 million for him.

I know he was very highly rated when he first moved to Inter, but he seems to have failed to live up to expectations so far.

Does anybody on here rate him? I've never seen him play.

Ian Ayre has been reading the Vito Corleone school of negotiating

"£8ml for Coutinho"

"No enough"

"£6.5ml"

Im expecting him to sign after we send a certified cheque for £100,000 tomorrow

Did well for Vasco when he first got into the team, though they did play in the 2nd division at the time.

I think he only played about 10 top division games before he moved.

He is classic case of someone who moved too early, victim of the pressure put on him by his agents and investors, as well as the hype that always comes here when they is a new attacking prospect.

I think he will be a good player in time but would be really wary of paying too much for him. Very unproven.

On that basis we'll probably end up bidding 16 million pounds for him then?

Yeah because from the start of this season, we've been massively overpaying for players havent we?

Wouldn't be against signing him like....

We won't sign him. Simple as that, isn't it.

I hope some of your recent positivness rubs off on me

I love a bit of positivity, me. I'd also love Coutinho, but I can't see why they'd let him go for anywhere near what we'd pay for him.

Seeing that he played about 30 games for Inter in a little under three years, I am not sure they are all that keen on him.

Would not pay much more than we have apparently offered. As I said, talented but unproven.

He is only just 20 though, mate. Not sure you can judge much on appearances. He also we.t out on load in that time.

I know and I am not writing the lad off. I lived in Rio when he was breaking through and he certainly has talent. Should have waited with the move and played in the top division here for a couple of seasons I think, just like Oscar did before moving to Chelsea.

I would be delighted if we got him, though I would not pay much more than what has been stated so far.

I don't mind overpaying to insure we get a player, just as long as they're decent enough to warrant it.

The money we get from Insua sale would bridge the gap somewhat + any Ince sell on fee as well since were not going to sign him

Insua? He's not our player since 2011

    • Ever the moral guardians of decency and the community.    Saint Domingo is without doubt the biggest gobshite I've ever seen post on a forum.  Saint Domingo Player Valuation: £70m Today at 5:20 PM   Add bookmark #13,443 It’s easy to tweet stuff. Oh look we mowed ‘NHS’ into the grass, oh look Brendan is laying a wreath, oh our twitter team throws out a #YMCA at whatever latest tragedy in the world there is.

What have they done for the community? Nothing. They decimated the Anfield area for their own expansion treating the residents awfully. They’ll sell Melwood to the highest bidder despite local objections. They furloughed their own staff. They hiked season ticket prices up to a level even that lot wouldn’t pay. Worst of all despite record profits, universal media coverage, and huge sway over governing bodies they’ve done absolutely nothing for the city of Liverpool apart from exploit them to make money for themselves.

On the other hand we’ve set up a world leading charity, we’re keeping Goodison as a benefit to the community rather than selling it for profit. We’ve frozen season ticket prices for years again at detriment to us. We didn’t furlough our staff.

Yeah but we don’t tweet #NSNO after every single world tragedy so we musn’t be as moral as the socialist shankly reds
    • The club is American owned ffs or have the idiots slating us forgot about that?
    • Forget the hair thing this kid seems to have everything in his locker to be a top player the future is bright with him  Curtis Jones and Neco Williams coming through the ranks .
    • Biggest cunts in sport. No mark nothing gobshites who virtue signal at every opportunity while Spending their entire life trying to downplay the achievements of a far superior football club.    A quarter of a century since their last trophy and they somehow think they are a big club.    Gobshites the lot of them.
    • Great gesture by the players, staff, owners and club. So sad others say it's nothing to do with us or use it as an excuse to once again attack the club. Their vitriol speaks more about them.
