Notice nowhere their statement do manchester united apologise for the chanting or the hurt any of the families may have felt or just the downright vileness of them.

And where the fuck has this some Liverpool fans were heard singing about Munich during this game come from!?

Once again this makes them look as if they are taking the moral high ground by issuing this statement while we stay quiet.

I agree. It's shocking. Particularly the bit were it's implied that United have acknowledged and condemned it and that the MEN have approached us for comments about Munich chanting but we haven't been arsed replying.

The reply should be rather simple. Along the lines of we condemn any such chants when they occur, yet to our knowledge no such chanting occurred in this recent fixture, but if you can provide us with examples of these alleged chants, they will be promptly investigated and dealt with appropriately.

UEFA likely to announce potential disciplinary proceedings over Anfield

chants on Monday

Offensive chants by Manchester United supporters during the Europa League match at Liverpool could result in disciplinary action on Monday.

UEFA are expected to reveal any disciplinary proceedings surounding Thursday's Europa League match between Liverpool and Manchester United on Monday.

The last-16 first leg at Anfield was marred by controversy as songs referencing the stadium disasters at Hillsborough and Heysel in the 1980s were heard.

European football's governing body has confirmed to Omnisport that any potential disciplinary investigations resulting from the match are likely to be announced on Monday, with Marouane Fellaini also possibly facing retrospective action for a physical clash with Emre Can that went unnoticed by officials.

Following the widespread criticism of sections of their support, United stated it would hold talks with supporter groups in a bid to curb a repetition of such behaviour.

"It has always been the position of Manchester United that chants of this nature, which refer to historical tragedies, have no place in the game and do not reflect the values the club holds," a United spokesperson said.

"We are in discussion with our fans' groups to seek their support in preventing this type of behaviour in the future."

Proceedings have been opened against Sparta Prague and Lazio following their 1-1 draw in the Europa League on Thursday.

The Italian club is being investigated for alleged racist behaviour and illicit chants, while both face charges of displaying illicit banners.

Czech side Sparta have also been cited for setting off fireworks, with the Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body set to deal with the case on March 22.

We all know that if anything actually comes out of this, it will both clubs getting fucked the same by UEFA in typical diplomatic shithousery. And, of course, our communications department will then release an official statement applauding UEFA for their very equitable verdict.

Did this actually happen? Anyone at the game hear them because you certainly couldn't on the telly.

I am so sick of this in the whole- 'what about them'- narrative that accompanies this.

No-one is denying that there aren't a few dickheads who sing Munich stuff. I've seen it myself, and the few lads who were at it got quickly told to shut the fuck up. But it was in response to the vast majority of the away end chanting non-stop and incessantly with murderers, sun was right etc. As they always fucking do.

At OT every single year, the whole ground reverberates with it, many many times throughout the 90 mins. When has there even been an audable Munich chant chant of any kind at our place in recent times, in even a small pocket? But nah, we're just as bad as them.

Also constantly see on twitter that loads of our fans giving it the airplane gestures into the away end. Yet in the age where everyone has a phone in their pocket, cameras everywhere, not one pic has emerged. But nah, we're just as bad as them.

Also, Lets not beat about the bush here. 'Murderers' is a Hillsborough jibe for them. It's a front for them to publicly hide behind the Heysel meaning. 'The S*n was right' version of it getting so constantly wheeled out just confirms it.

I've been in the away end at Old Trafford the last two visits and have never seen a single aeroplane gesture from our supporters.

There was a barely audible 'Munich' chant this season which saw 95% of our lot standing shaking their heads.

I've a friend who went in the away end a few years ago, I've never been.

He's the most placid, level headed fella you could ever meet. He said after 90 mins of their fans not even watching the game, just facing our fans doing the crushed face gestures -kids and all- and Hillsborough taunts, you can absolutley see why some start giving it back. He said it felt like the only weapon you had after so long subjected to that, but you just knew it was exactly what the Mancs wanted.

Still, he said the few who did were still shouted down by the majority.

They do the Munich gesture at you to try and goad you into doing it. They don't watch any of the game the cunts.
