What has RDN done besides Taxi Driver and Raging Bull and and maybe Deer Hunter where Walken was the star? Fuckall.

Don't forget Dirty Grandpa.

Actually laughed my head off at that.

When his Grandsons soon to be wife is ringing him "Tell her to fuck off"

Dick Kelly: So you’re a lawyer now?
Jason Kelly: Being a corporate lawyer is awesome. I get to handle SCC Compliants.
Dick Kelly: No shit?
Jason Kelly: LP Agreements, LLC Agreements.
Dick Kelly: You know what I’d rather do?
Jason Kelly: What?
Dick Kelly: I’d rather Queen Latifah shit in my mouth from a fucking hot air balloon.

De Niro is the better actor but he’s been in a lot of shite.

He’s wearing those boots in The Irishman because the character he’s playing is tall. Half the film is them as 70 year old men, half using CGI for them to be middle aged.

I wouldn’t say Scorsese has had a few stinkers recently, I’d say they were more of an acquired taste.

De Niro has done some massively underrated stuff that never gets a mention.

Awakenings

New York New York

Sleepers

The King of Comedy

The Mission

Angel Heart

Cop Land

Personally I think he beats Pacino hands down. Plus he never made that fucking ridiculous Scarface film, arguably the most over the top performance by any actor ever outside of Eastenders.

Just wondering who people perceive to be the better actor. De Niro seems to have a halo around his head despite the crap he's been producing recently. Everybody says he's a brilliant actor but apart from Raging Bull and Taxi Driver nobody knows why.

Will let you folks decide.

Fucking hell.  Goodfellas, casino king of comedy, cape fear, mean streets,  godfather 2

Scarface was/is a brilliant film and Pacino plays Tony Montana superbly. He is a genuinely scary, off his head psycho bastard. I will admit him taking "all them fucking bullets" at the end and still having a go at them was a bit ridiculous.

Not a scratch on Goodfellas though.

Pacino's work in his prime was top tier, then all of a sudden in the 80's he began to chew the scenery in almost every film he appeared in to the point that he became a punchline.

De Niro's been consistently brilliant, even in the mediocre comedies he's been showing up in for the last few years he never looks like he's phoning it in

Silver linings playbook hasn’t had a mention in here.  It’s a really good film and he’s pretty good in it.  I think Pacino is better but De Niro has appeared in a lot more better (and worse) films.  His comedy performances haven’t been great.  The less said about his role in stardust the better.

You're right about Silver Linings Playbook, De Niro is good in it.  It's sort of his later career Donnie Brasco equivalent role I reckon.  Not overdoing it.

Also, I didn't mind Stardust.

Both have done some absolutely brilliant stuff in the past but Pacino's stuff in the last 15 years or so has been shite and he seems unbelievably vain regarding his appearances. De Niro's move into comedy has been brilliant,Analyze This and Analyze That were funny as fuck and his roles in those Meet the Parents films as an ex CIA father in law were great. De Niro alse seems not to take himself too seriously and has a dry sense of humour like King Kenny does. And anybody who excludes Casino from De Niro's classic roles deserves a Joe Pesci bic pen to the neck.

Analyze This and That are ok. I haven’t seen the Meet the Parents films. Midnight Run and The King of Comedy are great, though.
