Anyone else us Rightmove like a lovely bit of property porn? I spend many session looking for incredible properties you'd need a double rollover to afford, then seeing what my house would cost elsewhere and what I'd get for the same money around the country.

There's one up for sale in Blundellsands at the moment that looks like it's an ex player, replica of big ears in a cabinet and 5 medals plus loads of shirts on the wall.

There's one for £40m in Hampstead that is amazing (obviously). I've found myself imagining living there quite a few times. On my phone so can't link but check it out .

Im properly addicted to this. As i live down in bournemouth there are no shortage of nice houses in Sandbanks,Canford cliffs, Branksome all of which I spend hours looking at. I actually think I am addicted to it. I get a little buzz when I find a new property (which I cant afford).

I'm always on Rightmove, I even have the app installed. Originally it was because we were looking to move but my house is now worth less than what I borrowed when I bought it 6 years ago (and I got it £15k under market value back then too) so it's just to keep an eye on the market. Which I do every day.

Go on Prime Location, put somewhere posh in the search box, and make sure you have no upper limit on price. Then sit back and see how rich people live.

That place is amazing, shocking decor though!

Thought that myself, rip out that shite and burn it and go minimalist and modern. I do not own curtains (prefer blinds) cushions or rugs. Amazing how much light a window can let in once you throw out the material people like to cover them with.

I swear I didn't even know what a pelmet was until I moved in with a woman.

The authorities should seize it and use the proceeds to clear up all their wretched fly posters, 2 mil ought to just about do it an all.

Pelmet? No idea and I'm not even going to Google it.

That house in the OP must be Didi's, it's a player who was with us in '99 and '01 going by the framed shirts and '05 going by the replica of the European Cup.

How does that work when it comes to re-mortgage? Or are you just on a tracker or something?

I'm on a variable rate which is currently 0.5% so my mortgage dropped by £400 a month after the recession. I got the house for £122k when they were going for around £140k (girl wanted a quick sale) and put down a 10% deposit so was only borrowing £110k on a house worth at the time £30k more. Then the arse fell out the housing market and seen same houses going for £105k recently by mine. I started on interest only as it was our first home together, had a mortgage for far less than its worth and were hoping to not be there for more than 5 years. Just going to ride it out for a couple more years then see where we stand. Probably be worth less again.

You can't buy class

It is concerning that there are a disproportionate amount of outdoor shots. What abominations are they hiding in the master bedroom and bathrooms?

Although it has to be said that walled vegetable garden is fucking amazing

That's why I'm glad I didn't buy until recently, I reckon with the work I've done I've now got about £30-£40 grand equity (when i remortgage that is)and I've only had it 6 months, it was a fixer upper.

The market was always going to need a correction and still now even it's too high I'd say, my mates in the same boat as you but he bought right at the height on shared ownership and is locked in on an interest only now, there is a big gulf in what it's worth and what he owes making his share of the house almost nothing despite paying it for 6 years

    • Yep, home advantage for 120 minutes in no way matches the potential of a double away goal advantage. Either have away goals only count double in the event of a draw after 90 minutes of the second leg, or do away with a rather archaic rule and once extra time kicks in, then it has to be a clear victory on aggregate.

    • Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah has been advised he’d be making a huge mistake by ditching Anfield for a transfer to Real Madrid this summer.   Reports in Spain this week have claimed Real Madrid are getting cold feet at the potential costs involved in signing No 1 target Kylian Mbappe from PSG and will instead turn to Salah as a cheaper alternative this summer.   As per Spanish outlet El Desmarque, Real are prepared to spend €150million to sign the Egyptian and, expecting his wages to also be far inferior to Mbappe, he is fast emerging as Los Blancos’ preferred option.   Furthermore, the Spanish outlet claims they will make official contact for Salah once they have offloaded Gareth Bale, with the Welshman’s reported £600,000 a week package proving a problematic issue for potential suitors.   However, amid reports Salah is tempted to try his luck in LaLiga, his close friend Mohamed Elneny has warned the Liverpool forward that a switch to the Bernabeu would be a ‘massive mistake.   Salah and Elneny are teammates in the Egyptian national team and they moved to Swiss side Basel together.   And, speaking to Bein Sports Turkey [via Sport Witness], Elneny said: “For me, he’s currently playing for one of best the teams in the world. He’s a superstar at Liverpool.   “If I were him, I’d stay at Liverpool. You see Eden Hazard is struggling at Real after he moved from Chelsea.   “Of course, Real Madrid is bigger than Liverpool, Barcelona is bigger than Liverpool. But he’s very settled at his current club and this Liverpool team is up there with the best. I don’t know what he thinks inside but I would definitely stay at Liverpool.”   Elneny, who is currently on loan at Besiktas from Arsenal, added: “Liverpool fans love him. He’s scoring goals. He’s on course to become a Liverpool great and I think that’s perfect.”   Salah has won the Champions League with Liverpool last season and looks a sure bet to claim Premier League glory this season. Yet there is a percentage of Liverpool supporters who, in the eyes of Jamie Carragher, under-appreciate the Egyptian and wouldn’t mind too much if he left for a record fee.   “I think Mo Salah is seen as world class by those on the outside but with Liverpool fans I think he is a little bit underappreciated.   “Certainly going from that first season to what he is doing now, there has been a bit of a dip. But he was never going to score another 47 goals in a season.   “Speaking to Liverpool fans and looking at social media, I think Liverpool have got six world-class players. I think they have the goalkeeper, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Salah.   “I think if you asked Liverpool fans whether they would take big money for the other five, they would all say no, no matter what the money.   “There is no way they would sell Alisson or Van Dijk. But if you offered them £130m for Salah, they would think about it. That is why I say he is underappreciated.”
    • Not for me.   I personally think away goal rule is outdated full stop, but that is another argument.   Home advantage is nothing like it used to be when away goals were first brought in and if you look at tie as a whole they have matched each other exactly in the two results - both winning 1-0 away, then they have played half an hour on top where they drew 1-1 and just for that goal by the away team in that half hour they win the whole tie that period is decisive but if that period ended 0-0 it wouldn't have been...not right for me.
    • Oh-ohoh- oh-ohohoooh we have the best hasbeens in the world we have Gael Clihcy, De-emba Ba-a, Skrtel and Ro-bin-hooo.
