Di Matteo sacked

The madness was not sacking him, the madness was hiring him in the first place as he is a pretty shite manager, he is in fact worse than Roy Hodgson who came in and saved West Brom after Di Matteos somewhat naive style and set up.

I think Chelsea felt they had to give him the job though after he won the FA Cup and the CL but it was never going to last.

Put your name in the hat, Code.

We all called this ages ago, even if he'd won every trophy this year they'd have been waiting for him to lose one game so they could bin him, he's not showbiz enough - that's what we all have to remember about this club, it's not about winning for sporting sake, not even for the fans, it's only about bragging rights, it's about having the latest pair of trainees, it's about having the right haircut, and Di Matteo was a mullet. Joke of a club, I know the phrase is thrown around a lot but it's true, I'd be embarrassed to support it.

Probably Pep up next, though I wouldnt be too surprised if they approached Rafa. It would give him a chance to prove what could have been if he was properly supported, or prove the nay-sayers right about his in-ability regarding transfers.

He wouldn't have any say in transfers at that joke shop, the owner delivers his latest play thing and says entertain me. I don't know why he didn't just buy Barca, it would have been cheaper.

Here is what Rory Smith said in the Times.

Abramovich is minded to make one more attempt to coax the former Barcelona coach to Chelsea midseason; if that fails, and Chelsea are eliminated, he will turn to Benítez, the former Liverpool manager, at least until the end of the campaign. At that point, he would return, once again, to Guardiola. The Spaniard was sounded out by Chelsea nine months ago, as Abramovich prepared to sack Villas-Boas, but could not agree terms with the club.

Chelsea were prepared to offer only a four-month, temporary deal, but Benítez was determined to hold out for an 18-month contract. Then, though, discussions went through Marina Granovskaia, Abramovich’s trusted personal assistant. This time, the contact has been between the two men direct. Although his Liverpool connections do not make him a natural choice in the eyes of many fans, Benítez is seen by Chelsea’s hierarchy as the one manager capable of eliciting the best from Fernando Torres. So poor has the Spaniard’s form been — he has scored only once in eight games — that Di Matteo, despite an injury to Daniel Sturridge, elected to start with Hazard at the tip of a revamped formation.
