David Moyes, Everton manager, 14th August 2009: "We cannot be getting offers a week or two to go before the end of the deadline. And the offers they made shows that we value Joleon Lescott far higher than they do. "Joleon is a massive player for us, we think so much of him and do not want to lose him. "The players here think so much of him, and as a [coaching] staff we do. "His head has been twisted and I cannot say the way things have been done is right, it is not how we do things at this club. "But maybe their football club is different, I control things here, maybe it is not quite the same there." (Telegraph) David Moyes, Manchester United mana…

No manc thread started? Might as well start an MF version of this to put stuff in. Klopp on Matip: "There is nothing to say about it. If and when something is fixed you will be the first to know." Klopp on first 100 days in charge of #LFC: "This isn't the time to think about these things too much. We have a very important game v Utd." Klopp: "We could have done better, we could have done worse. Some great moments and some average moments." Klopp: "We could have done better, we could have done worse. Some great moments and some average moments." Klopp on Van Gaal: "He is one of the most successful managers in the world. He has a special idea of f…

Karius Robertson Lovren van Dijk Alexander-Arnold Milner Henderson Wijnaldum Salah Firmino Mane Milner apparently had (has) a muscle strain- could be carpel tunnel from his new twitter/instagram- which would definately throw the proverbial spanner in the works. The Brighton perfromance put a bit of mind easing in place with a comfrotable win and a Mo goal; as well the added bonus of Solanke finding the net. You never know when that may come in handy. I reckon a repeat of the 1981 scoreline is about as far away a result as anything; but we'd all take it. My gut feeling says we will win. This team needs to take the step of winning finals and not losing them.…

Let's get this International break out of the way & get back to serious business against this shower of cunts. Our home record has been poor against them in the league, which we need to sort out sooner rather than later, apparently our entire defence is staying at Melwood over the break so plenty of time for them to work on this set piece problem. Providing everyone makes it back alive, I think we'll go with:- Karius Clyne, Matip, Lovren, Milner Wijnaldum, Henderson Mane, Coutinho, Lallana Firmino

Screw you, Johnny. I've taken it out of your hands. Mwuhahahahahahahahahahahaha! So, are we going to beat these cunts or what? Discuss.

I hate these bastards. Even more so with that Mourinho cunt in charge. He seems keen on winning this competition as well, so fully expect them to have a very strong eleven out. It'll be very hard to stop them from scoring but we've got good practice in with our last two games. A clean sheet would be huge. Anything can happen in semi-finals but we really could do with a win to bring into the 2nd leg at Stamford Bridge. Be interesting to see if Lallana and Gerrard will play. I would probably start the same team as Villa. I'd be interested to see how this Chelsea fairs against our 3-4-3.

What do you reckon? I personally reckon we'll get beat, they always raise their game against us and that will be no different this weekend. Atkinson is the referee, so expect every decision to go against us. Reina Kelly Carra Coates Enrique Speo Lucas Adam Kuyt Suarez Downing. Skrtel is fucking dreadful. I know Coates is only here but Id start him ahead of Skrtel. He cant be much worse. Gerrard wont have the match fitness so Id give Speo the nod, he's the one person who you want to have playing in a Derby, same goes for Kuyt.

For the MF. I am reliably informed he is out for a while. When I asked if its a minor knock or out till xmas, I was told he won't be back soon. Can't give any dates etc. I imagine the press will be asking questions and getting dates soon.

Seeing we won with my Reading match thread, I'll see if I can keep the run going. Looking forward to the game. They'll fancy they're chances but we'll fancy ours as well. Pending fitness: Reina / Jones Wisdom Skrtel Agger Johnson / Downing / Enrique Gerrard Allen Shelvey Sterling Suarez Assaidi / Suso Personally I'd play try & let Downing build on last night if Johnson is out & start Assaidi over Suso but we'll see. Sterling (and Suso if he plays) are guarenteed to be in for a rough ride. C'MON REDS

With Sturridge out what's our best line up. I'd like to see lallana come in and get a game so probably play a 4-3-3.

I see this being discussed in yesterday's match thread to a degree and also a mention made of Comolli's recent comments playing down our activity this summer: Kenny Dalglish told not to expect major investment this summer | Mail Online What should we expect in terms of a transfer budget this summer? With Moores in charge we would spend approximately £15m plus sales each summer, so with increased TV money and sponsorship would it be fair to expect £25m plus sales as our summer spend under the new owners? Or as some are arguing should Kenny be forced to wheel and deal and not be provided with a substantial budget? We don't seem to have spent very well since …

We are home team, so I assume we will be in Shankly's all red kit. The referee is Jonas Eriksson from Sweden. Sevilla are four time winners, Liverpool three time winners. We have come through the Cheslea match unscathed. Mignolet Clyne Lovren Kolo Moreno Milner Can Lallana Firminio Sturridge Coutinho Lucas may be needed as a centreback. Can't see Klopp giving Jesus Joe a start amd his biggest impact is from the bench. Benteke on the bench and I got a funny feeling about the much maligned Belgian. i would love for us to dispatch these like Villareal but even though they are lower in LaLiga they are a fish of a different pot in a black kettle. …

Shitting bricks just thinking about this one. We should turn them inside out, but this and the Sunderland game just look like banana skins now. The players must not be allowed to think like that though. All about focus, intensity and concentration. It'd be nice to see Suarez getting back to his superhuman levels from a couple of months ago too. Same team as Sunday for me, but back to 4-3-3. Come on!

With Pesky Palace disposed of the focus can now fully be on getting to the semi-finals. Everton of course rolled over like a submissive puppy and let City tickle them; they hardly worked up a sweat, in fact I’m sure their last training session was more of a challenge. The key I reckon to this tie is holding the carbon funded cunts to two goals or less at Anfield. No mean feat that. Also would help to score more goals then them. Karius will have to be top of his game, his save from the Mane handball incident free kick shows he can now set up a wall and make a proper save. A big worry is young Trent on the right. And the midfield (It should be Ox, Hendo an…

This is shaping up to be one of the key debates of the start of the season. The odds are on Lovren starting against Stoke, if we're to read anything into pre-season. I thought I would start a thread to stimulate debate on what is sure to be a white-hot talking point.

He's been an extraordinary signing and I trust him implicitly in front of goal. He's pretty much nailed on to get 20 league goals and he's scored against City, Everton and Arsenal. The knock on him would be that he hasn't performed at this level for a long time, nor does he yet have an international or Champions league record. What do you know, what do you say?

It's happening, so build a bridge and get over it. Looking for positives: - We lack genuine pace and a genuine winger who scores goals (21 league goals in 67 Apps) - Klopp is on record saying he has been following Mane since he was at Salzburg - He is only 24, so he can improve - He can't score against us - ? I think he'll be a good signing who will add a noticeable threat to our attack next season. Unlikely he will set the World a light though.

Here we go. Considering our first two home games are against Man City and Arsenal, there is a certain degree of pressure we get all three points here on Saturday. I am confident we will do that as well. Gerrard and Suarez seem to be in a good place at the moment, and I think we'll be too strong for the not really improved West Brom. Pepe Johnson Skrtel Agger Enrique Lucas Allen Downing Gerrard Borini Suarez 0-2

It's the first final ticket sale since Athens. That was a spectacular fuck up. Are FSG ready for this task or are there going to be more comedy capers along the way? I reckon most people will be sorted so long as you went to the City game. Members will have to scramble round, and I don't know if auto cup ticket works for finals? Either way, we should be hearing about this some time in the very near future.

After a decent training session Saturday lunch time the five time champions of Europe head down the M62. Usually a three goal lead without having conceded an away goal would be fairly safe as houses but this has tricky written all over it. Score and they need five at a minimum. Hopefully Mo is fit; midfield picks itself and we’ll need Gini to put in a shift away from home.
