Now that we have formed this fantastic elitist little club, there are a few names i don't really recognise. DT did this thread on the GF a few years back and it was a resounding success. I will use his exact format (so the Christmas one is a bit odd) name: age: occupation: hailing from: living in: loving: hating: currently reading: christmas wish list:

I'm probably going to be in the minority but I am okay with this one. Not delighted but okay with it. It could be clever business. If we started next season with Sturridge, a £25M striker, Origi and Ings, I would be delighted. Balotelli (£12M), Borini (£9M), Lambert (£1m) and Aspas (£3M) is £25M. Surely there is a striker out there for £25M we can attract. That's the fee the likes of Lacazette and Dybala will require. Ings is talented but ultimately it's buying potential. But at least this time, the potential we're buying is low-risk as his contract expires in June. Only 22, good record for England U21's and is on his way to 10+ goals in his first season i…

My brother in law is a season ticket holder at Sunderland. I asked him what he thought of Henderson and he said: "He can't tackle, he puts in a good cross, he has a good engine, he takes all the corners but they are always shite. Doesn't score many." I haven't seen anything to make me disagree with any of that. Seems like a lot of money to pay for someone who isn't the out and winger that most of us were hoping for. I'm struggling to see the logic in this one.

The manager has been a slow burn for me. Initially I was skeptical about his appointment, thinking he was a flavour of the month manager appointment ala Hodgson previously. I also as a 39 year old Irish bullshitter, believed i saw similar traits in Brendan. Talks a good game... some success with a junior team, but not Liverpool material. Nonetheless - fully behind him since appointment and certainly believe that he has made significant progress since Christmas last year, in part boosted by signings of Countinho and Sturridge. I am know fully behind him, a lot of my earlier doubts and skepticism have been erased. i do believe he is learning on the job, b…

Someone else did the Stoke one and we lost. Therefore I'm coming back to doing these to bring back some much needed good luck. Should we start Carroll? Who'll be right back? Does Maxi deserve a run? Will the Captain be back? All this and more.....below...

Full strength, 1st team well rested, a must win game for Rodgers as if we don't 2 wins from 11 is relegation form. We won 3 times there in 2011 so we have a chance.

I see today Chelsea have bid to buy Battersea Power station with plans to build a 60,000 all seater stadium. However they see it as a whole property development with Shops and supermarkets in a prime location area. So the reality is they might even break even or turn a profit on the deal When Arsenal moved to Emirates they redeveloped Highbury into flats thus offsetting the costs of the new stadium. However LFC such a development in L4 wouldnt raise the revenues that it did in highbury and especially battersea where apartments with probably sell for over 20 times that of a new apartment in L4 its a major reason why we cant compete and I am sure the owners woul…

I'll start the match thread as I'm a good omen on these. Could be a tough test this, but it's an early afternoon KO off Sunday which means an extra days preparation. Obviously Enrique will be out for this, so....do you keep Flano on the left? Would you stick with 4-3-3? Does Allen keep the shirt? Sturridge and Suarez could do with a week off with no distractions. Hull are a good side at the KC, so we need to be on our best behaviour for this one.

Chelsea fans think they're playing well but can't score. We're playing well and can score. Come on you mighty reds. I hate Chelsea.

Just a quick poll to gage the opinion of the MF on our new manager, please continue the main discussion in the established thread. *Edit - I hope the options provided cover the feelings of most of us, but feel free to say if none of the options cover your own thoughts.

Starting a new thread for the links to members only content so you don't miss any of it. First up, the Arsenal report: http://www.liverpoolway.co.uk/index.php/articles.html/_/match-reports/1/arsenal-3-liverpool-3-dec-22-2017-r1372

So who's out missing then? Allen, Sakho, Enrique all still on the sidelines? Any news on Johnson, Flanagan, Agger or Sturridge?

Deserves his own thread. Never seen him play. Couldn't be arsed watching youtube clips because he's a DM and I'd rather be watching clips of the sexy bastards like Fekir. Like the stealth nature of how we got it done and it proves once and for all that Can is defo off as this lad is taking his place in the squad. Hendo is going to have to get used to being rotated a bit more than he's used to I think, but he still has a big part to play. I think there's going to have to be a surprise departure in midfield though, because if Fekir comes then we have eight players going for three spots. Lallana is the obvious one but I have a nagging fear it might be Mil…

Big game. Let's beat these cardboard cut-out cunts! I think the big decision is whether we start Sterling or Sturridge upfront. I'd have Gerrard on the bench, but wouldn't be opposed to him starting ahead of Lallana, who has been disappointing lately. Here is what Carragher & Neville would do:

I am glad to see Flanagan is getting the recognition he deserves right now. Gerrard, Rodgers and Sturridge have all reserved huge praise for the lad and I am delighted for him. Even Neville on Monday Night Football described him as a “big character”. I never really understood why he disappeared so fast from the first-team scene. He was drafted in at 18-years-old and, in my opinion, has had more good days than bad days in the red shirt. I can only think of a few games where he may have let us down – but I always assumed that even those bad experiences are good in a sense as they are opportunities to learn and grow from. A Premier League squad consists of 25 playe…

Sort it out, please. Still the most underrated player in the league by other supporters. Future club and country captain. He is well on his way to being one of the top midfielders in the country and it's no surprise he excels in Gerrard's absence. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/jordan-henderson-liverpool-captaincy-talk-8870201

We have never lost a game when I have started the match thread. Ever. That may be because I've never started one before, or it may be because I am a lucky bastard. You decide.

BBC Sport - Luis Suarez & Patrice Evra set to shake hands at Anfield On the field, Gerrard, Suarez, Kelly, Johnson, Agger, Skrtel, and Allen will be rested, as they are not travelling to Switzerland. It'd be like us to go and get our first league win of the season in this match. 2-1

I'm bored, so I thought I would look at some alternative ways to measure whether we are on track to get into the Top 4. And as we always have a "can we finish top 4" type of thread, it may as well be this. I'll hopefully update it weekly, but we'll see how we go. Hopefully we'll keep winning our games, and I have to do another one for finishing top! Over the past 5 seasons, the 4th placed team has scored an average of 70.4 points, so I will say that our aim is to get to 71 points. Last season Arsenal scored 73 points, so it may not be enough, but if we do get to 71 points (or more) and don't finish in the top 4, I think we will have been a little unlucky. Method …
